Warning: this is a long post!
Jimmy Kempski of The Philadelphia Voice posted articles reviewing the 10 worst contracts in the NFC East. See the link to the article below.
As a bit of a spoiler, he has the Giants with 4 of the 10 worst contracts in the NFC east:
1. Daniel Jones-Giants
2. DeMarcus Lawrence-Cowboys
3. Dak Prescott-Cowboys
4. Curtis Samuel-Commanders
5. Dereck Barnett-Eagles
6. Michael Gallup-Cowboys
7. Leonard Williams-Giants
8. Logan Thomas-Commanders
9. Adoree Jackson-Giants
10. Mark Glowinski-Giants
Kempski is always vitriolic and extremely biased, and this article is no different. This is the same writer who produces the "10 reasons why [your team] will be a dumpster fire" prior to the season.
I will never quite understand why writers from other teams, specifically Philadelphia and Dallas, act like fans as opposed to just reporters/writers. Say what you will about the Giants writers, but they are always professional and unbiased.
The funny part about this article is that any objective writer can see that the Eagles clearly have a smorgasbord of brutally awful contracts:
Fletcher Cox: 32 years old, significant decline in play. 1 year, $10 million, $20 million dead cap hit. 4(!) void years.
James Bradberry: 30 years old, 3 years remaining, about $1.25 each year, but cap hits of $3 million, $4 million, and $8 million, respectively. Dead cap hits of $20 million, $17 million, and $12 million, respectively. 4 (!) void years.
Darius Slay: 32 years old, 3 years remaining, about $1.25 each year, but cap hits of $11 million, $10 million, and $14 million, respectively. Dead cap hits of $46 million, $35 million, and $24 million, respectively. 4 (!) void years. His first 2 void years have dead cap hits of $14 million and $6 million, respectively!
Lane Johnson: 33 years old, 4 years remaining, about $1.25 each year, but cap hits of $14 million, $16 million, and $17 million, and $18 million, respectively. Dead cap hits of $62 million, $48 million, and $21 million, and $11 million, respectively. 3 (!) void years. His first void year has a cap hit of $22 million and a dead cap of almost $4 million.
Jason Kelce: 36 years old, 2 year deal, just over $1 million each year, cap hit of just under $11 million and $12 million. Dead cap of $35 million and $24 million, respectively. 3 void years.
Brandon Graham: 36 years old, 2 year deal, just over $1 million each year, cap hit of just under $10 million and $7 million. Dead cap of $23 million and $13 million, respectively. 3 void years.
AJ Brown: 25 years old, 5 years remaining, under $1.25 each year for the next 3 years, but $15 million and $30 millon the final 2 years. Cap hits of $5 million, $8 million, and $12 million, and $26 million, and $41 million, respectively. Dead cap hits of $39 million, $50 million, $42 million, $30 million, $20 millon, and $9 million, respectively. 2 void years.
Jalen Hurts: 25 years old, 6 years remaining, about $1.25 each year, but cap hits of $6 million, $21 million, $31 million, $45 million, and $54 millon. Dead cap hits of $110 million, $104 million, $90 million, $69 million, $44 million, and $24 million. 4(!) void years.
Sure, these are good players, but these contracts are awful! The more you research this roster, the more it looks like a ticking timebomb. One would assume, eventually, this will catch up to the team.
Say what you will about Schoen's dealings with Daniel Jones, Adoree Jackson, Mark Glowinski, and Leonard Williams, but they can get out of all contracts (except Jones) after this season with basically no penalty and Jones out is after next season with a limited penalty. Very team-friendly deals..
If you choose to respond on Twitter or via email, be careful, because sometimes he will post overly emotional responses on his page.
I think he is confusing bad contracts with the talent of the players. The writer may not love the player(s) on this list, but the deals are structured well. Sure, void years and playing with funny money are great to sign players, but bad contracts with lots of void years for aging players tend to be a recipe for disaster.
An interesting perspective from an opposing writer.

exactly and it is not like the Eagles do not have some bloated contracts in their final year. This guy is a total clown. Plus, I think Jackson at his age is better than both Bradberry or Slay even though those guys get some much acclaim. Anytime the Eagles went against a team that can throw those guys got torched.
A Biblical reference. I like it!
I think those deals for the older players are a huge risk but could pay off for them if they manage to stay healthy.
Jones is on the ultimate trust but verify contract. I maintain the Giants won that battle.
Jones is definitely not on a mega deal, and is closer to the Carrs of the world, than the Hurts.
2 articles worth right there.
The structure of Jones's deal is relatively team-friendly, though it will obviously be painful to cut bait at the 2025 inflection point if he falls short of expectations. That's a similar situation to where the Eagles were with Carson Wentz in 2019: even as Wentz descended to a plausible worst-case outcome, the mistake only set the team's cap condition back by a year or two. (Of course, landing Hurts late in round 2 helped, as did the Colts "shopping hungry" for Wentz.)
Including Jackson and Glowinski seems gratuitous. He might as well throw in Tyrod Taylor, Parris Campbell, and Darius Slayton. Players do get paid - even Giants. The one genuinely bad contract is Leonard Williams, and that whole situation has been terrible for four years. We just need to hope he has a great year, now that the D-Line has some depth.
Two examples from this off season, Golladay and Elliott causing dead money into the future cap years.
If a player plays to the end of his deal and is then not resigned. Was that a bad contract.
Dak's value is directly related to his health. If he shows he's not the future this year, they will designate him as a June 1 cut and account for the remainder of his bonuses over 2 years.
If he stays healthy and plays like he did in 2021, they'll happily extend him.
In what world is paying 30 year old corners to big deals good?
I hope Leonard Williams ruins Philly's offense in 2023. I wonder if this guy will own it. Nah, no one ever owns shit anymore.
To me, they don’t qualify as bad contracts. They don’t impact the team more than 1 year.

exactly the Adoree Jackson listing is just weird. That was a rare good move by DG and a decent contract. Just because the last year is high does not mean it was a bad contract or even is one for this year.
Glowinsky? Really? And Jones isn’t close to s bad as Dak IMO.
And tbh Hurts can easily make that list. If he gets hurt or falls back? Opinion piece that totally ignores the the deals they give Kelce and the other guy who is old as fuck too
You can be objective. But those days are gone. Guy,s parents are related
PFF: Mark Glowinski has Giants' best contract - ( New Window )
We all know Jones's contract is pretty good, or even very good.
