Notes:
-Mets are a game above .500 and in 2nd place in the NL East.
-Mets would be in the playoffs as one of the three wildcards if the season ended today.
-Vientos is sitting again today in place of Voyeurwalker.
-Pham's in the lineup instead of Canha in LF.
Yeah, because we are facing two LHPs over the next three games. Hes platooning them when he should just be playing Vientos most of the time. It’s tiresome.
Oh… wait…

Good 1 Optimus-NY!
We'd all be better off if he replaced those tools with chop sticks

I can't take credit for that one. I saw it in the comments section of an article from the NY Post. The Pillsbury Batboy moniker is mine though!

Good one about the chop sticks. How did the Pirates organization allow him to develop with them looking like that? Lose some weight and have some pride in being a professional athlete. Worse yet, the Pirates were ok with it.

He could look like John Kruk or Tony Gwinn and it wouldn't matter. He's just not that good.
as if the actual results don't make that plainly obvious enough, or the logic of wasting time on 2 dead ends only signed for a few more months vs a young guy with 6+ years of control, here's another proof point of their philosophy not working - they tried the same "run them out" philosophy last year with JDD and Dom Smith basically through July. How did that work out? JDD started hitting the second he was gone but not a minute before.
in a million ways people know when their role in an organization is hanging by a thread. when there is no way they are getting another contract there and at risk for being replaced any day by someone else. some people are unaffected by that but it would seem this mets regime continues to be unable to judge that.
The only possible reason might be -- they're trying to preserve Mark's trade value, to get something for him in a deadline deal.
But this 'braintrust' is not that smart.

That would be odd, unless they're playing chess and we're playing checkers (lol).
they havent been good and they havent helped them win so to date they are wrong.
they can either continue being wrong or try something so obvious it helped them win 2 games last week. this shouldnt be a hard decision.
Both need to go.
I am also curious if there is a disagreement between Buck and Billy or are they both responsible for curious decisions like too many at-bats for Vogelbach and Pham.
Vientos could take a while to get up to speed, it is essential he play regularly so he learns to handle ML pitching.
Eppler and Buck can't leave soon enough.

THIS. They're in saving face mode now. They won't admit they're wrong and are doubling down on these failed experiments. They can't be trusted going forward and need to be gone.
