The Giants pick of WR Jalin Hyatt was a very pleasant shock for me (and ranked #6 best steal by the Athletic) ...

The Patriots pick of Christian Gonzales, 17th over-all, is to me the biggest steal. I think he has top-5 talent (what Dave Gettleman used to call a "Gold Jacket" type pick).
Grading drafts or talking about 'steals' less than a month after the draft...fool's errand.
73rd over-all pick; I hope he makes his doubters pay !

Prince may not have been great but any player that plays as long as he did was a good pick.
Yup… well said.
"Total selections: 7 (6 better than projected, 1 worse than projected)"
Deonte Banks the one "reach" and the "worse than projected" player...go figure.
I like the Tre Hawkins pick, but we took him in the 6th round (209 overall), and I haven't found a single site that ranked him higher than 446, with an average ranking of over 500. In fact, 90%+ sites don't even have him ranked at all, including The Athletic. That would be a reach compared to Banks at 24.
Shows just how asinine player evaluations and journalists' opinions on grading drafts, can be.

I remember the consensus that Prince falling to us in '11 was a 'steal' & he was meh.

He was misused here too, very awkward just watching a man press corner like him squat in zone, as bizarre looking as Dex rushing around the edge - or trying too. Just some weirdass drafting and coaching decisions.
Typical "journalists" and their gold standard Dream Team fluffing.
