Speaking about his contract dispute, Bell said that the contract that was rumored on social media was not the real number he was offered by the Steelers, it was lower. He also said the main point of disagreement with the Steelers was the guaranteed money. |

Maybe the biggest thing though, is that Bell said looking back, he should’ve signed with Pittsburgh. “It was like a little petty, the guarantee stuff . . . I’m thinking could I have just ate it? Yeah, I probably could’ve, yeah, I probably could’ve really ate it,” said Bell. |
It was between Kendrell Bell and Antonio Pierce. I believe Bell was the first option. Things didn't work out with Bell, so the NYG came to terms with Pierce. It all worked out in the end.
Well, Bell said he should have “ate it”, meaning, dealt with the low guarantees Pitt offered him. Why should Barkley sign for smaller guarantees?
A cautionary tale for Quon Quon, indeed.
Unless Pitt offered more guaranteed?
"He didn't get that, instead landing with the New York Jets on a four-year, $52.5 million contract with $35 million guaranteed."
