Notes:
-Vientos is in the lineup again today & is playing 3B.
-Baty is sitting against the southpaw on the mound for Colorado today.
-Nimmo is DHing with Alvarez hitting 2nd instead of batting 9th in his usual spot in the order.
-Pham is in LF, Marte is in CF, and Canha is in RF.
-Escobar is batting 9th and playing 2B today.
-Tomorrow's an off day with the Mets returning home to play the Phillies on Tuesday.
They should have put Baty in LF instead of Pham. Buck is weird and loves to give away games.

Yeah. I think they showed a stat yesterday about it being only the third time that all three rookies were in the lineup together at the same time.
all 3 batted balls this inning 101+. alonso 101 single, vientos 103 ground out, pham 103 line drive.
mets team xba is almost .500 right now.
Pham brings more to the table than Vogeloinker does (no pun intended).
Last year Mets catchers hit 7 home runs in 530 AB… Francisco Alvarez just hit his 8th HR of the year.
that was a catchable ball that just gave up a 4 run lead and the inning isnt over yet. megill not the best candidate to rise above those types of plays.
piazza's bat is a pretty high bar. id still bet against that.
he could but its a tall order. would have to continue to improve both his BA and K-rate, along with maintaining/increasing his slg% all beyond what he did in the upper minors.
not impossible but he's always been a 20-25% k guy and .275 type hitter so hard to see him getting to the point of a lifetime batting average over .305 and a k-rate under 15%.
in 1997 piazza hit .362 with 40 homers and walked almost the same number of times as he k'd.
i doubt most batting practice goes that well.
makes you wonder why he even threw nogosek in this one. i know most of the options suck but if they are hitting anyone that hard pull him and try someone else.
we miss him and Diaz. Now we have slop, then Ottavino and Robertson
Quote:
really could use a guy like Holderman. Good thing we traded him for Vogelbach. Nice job by Billy and his quants.

lugo and trevor williams were losses too.
We need relief pitching, we do not need to trade Vientos or Mauricio for it.
Looks like Pham > Volgie.
Volgie has to go after Narvaez returns from rehab.

Nidon't needs to go first.
