Judge big fly and a little league homer given up with ridiculous assists from Bader and Higgy.
Ahh I don’t know about that. He’s got really good stuff again today just threw one bad pitch. More like bad location than anything.
Yeah that was some pretty piss poor, amateur hour D, and I expect a lot better from Bader. That’s twice now in the past week I’ve seen him air mail a throw home when he had absolutely no shot at getting the runner.
I think they’ll get some off of Darvish though, and Cole to keep them in check.
but let’s also appreciate the fact the Yanks beat Darvish like a dirty doormat against the fence today. We’ve smacked around some good pitchers so far this season
Yanks are going to need a new closer if this team really wants to contend for a title. He often wiggles out of it, but just can’t see Holmes as dependable all year long through playoffs

Only one I trust is Peralta at this point.
Peralta is a middle innings guy, at best an 8th inning reliever. He doesn't have the pure dominant stuff to be a closer.
The problem with the Yankee bullpen is that the best arm in the pen (King) can't pitch on consecutive days

I don’t see it either but maybe this year he finishes strong unlike last year where he was so dominant early in the year.
They’re really missing Loaisiga though and even if he is back in August, I don’t know how much confidence we could have in him to just step in and be a shut down reliever. Sounds like Kahnle is back this week so that should raise the quality level of the pen a bit, but I think they still need some help out there. Especially if we keep using 3-4 guys seemingly every game.
hitting .322 with 12 homers at Scranton. Give him one more chance?
Trade him while he has value. He is not a MLB player.
We know this based on 54 MLB ABs? Ludicrous. He may not be an MLB player but the Yankees have handled him terribly. When they call him up he plays once or twice per week. No young player can succeed like that. Look at how long it’s taking Volpe to get accustomed to MLB and he’s playing every day

Sure, he has been up and down for years - yes years - and he cannot crack the lineup. They trade and sign OFs and yet he cannot crack the lineup.
You don't have to be Branch Rickey to see they do not believe he can be on the MLB roster.
They finally let Hicks go and trade for Greg Allen - what does that tell you? I would love for him to be able to play in the Bronx - even on the bench - but he isn't...trade him to someone while he has value.
Florial will have to kidnap all of outfielders before he gets a shot,
it is what it is, sometimes you wonder why the team hates its own prospects. Then again, the kids they seem to love often don't fare much better either, though they get the chance to fail and fail again. For example, Schmidt.
Peraza has been hitting well in AAA. I hope he doesn't get the same Florial treatment just because they like Volpe more. I've seen enough of Cabrera to be honest, I like his energy and versatility but he just doesn't hit enough. Volpe's strikeouts aside, his defense also doesn't appear to be elite. The lack of arm strengh does show up on occasion, but he's not nearly as surehanded as I was expecting either. It'll be interesting to see how the team navigates the two. We are all expecting Peraza at SS and Volpe at 2B, the sooner we get there the better. Florial's 450 footer - ( New Window )

I love the Yankees, but they have been nothing short of dreadful at developing prospects. There is nothing in their recent history that tells me they know a damn thing about whether Florial or anyone else can play in the majors. Their history of success the past decade is basically Aaron Judge and a bunch of disappointments. They don’t get the benefit of doubt from me

How often have they been wrong when they let a kid in their system flourish elsewhere? How often are the yanks picking in the top 5-10 in a draft?
Also, judge does count. So does Torres. So do the pitchers they have developed especially in the bullpen. Severino isn’t a failure by any means.
No one is saying the yanks are the Tampa bay devil rays here but you’re making them out to be completely incompetent.

Big fella up with two on.
4-3
4-3
Yeah that really was a great play but good on the Yanks for getting that 7th run anyway.
Much better at 10-6 with Holmes coming in...
