The jets make the most sense with their all in, SB or bust, approach. Put could the giants sneak in here? I just get this under the radar vibe of the giants creating a very good WR group (with Waller and Barkley) by finding a way to add DH. They would have to extend some contracts….which no one wants to kick the can down the road to create a 2-3 yr window for DH and any deep playoff run….but, again, it just seems like there is a “surprise” vibe going on here.
Thoughts?
Hodgins
Hyatt
Robinson
Campbell
Slayton
Shep
Waller
Bellinger
Barkley
We would go from arguably the worst skill position group in the NFL to near the top overnight.
This sounds like BS. The Cardinals themselves said he had a nagging knee injury but might play if they were contending. So the Cardinals lied to everyone last year or are they now just trying to justify releasing him?
Nobody really tried all that hard to trade for Hopkins and now you really don't see teams jumping at him even as a FA.
Either his ask is out of control or there is something else going on that we don't know yet.
Now you may agree with his assessment of said QB but still that's a red flag.
Either he's asking for insane money or there is something else(maybe teams think he's going to get caught using again).

Well, did you watch him in 2022? I did and he’s still a top 10 WR pretty easily. a long term contract doesn’t make sense but a 2-3 year deal does. Not saying we should or shouldn’t but this notion that he’s over the hill isn’t supported by his recent play.
He would be a great mentor for Hyatt as well as a good get if ne has the make-up the Giants like. If not, no.
It would help them if Johnson could return and be another big bodied WR for when Hodgins can't play.
Now if Hopkins would take way less then OBJ then yeah consider adding him. But why would he take less then $15mm.
When it comes to big name WRs here at BBI a logical post like yours is sadly ignored by too many. People have posted 4-8 very solid reasons why he's most likely isn't on the Giants radar. Yours makes a ton of sense to anyone who is paying attention. But he's a big name and it's easy to make internet web site deals from a phone
Schoen has, to this point, proven himself very careful in spending/committing cap dollars. Hopkins would use a fair amount. Maybe most important of all, I think Schoen and Daboll are serious about the character/chemistry of players they want here and the growth of the team from within. Perhaps they have reservations whether Hopkins would be a fit and additive.

His floor should be what OBJ got. Ravens kind of overpaid for OBJ to help facilitate the Lamar deal. It made sense for them. The fallout from that is that it nuked Hopkins trade potential and will limit his options on the market.
I doubt it happens but he would be a great addition. No one on our roster is anywhere close to his level. It’s no comparison to the Golladay situation.
That's his salary floor for one year.

I agree. The two arguments against it for the Giants are the shorter term cap and not being 1 player away, but I kinda don’t buy the second reason fully. We see teams like the Bills, Eagles and Rams make trades to greatly enhance their teams - it’ll likely take a trade for the Giants to get to that level as well.

100% agree. Someone posted a stat yesterday that he generated the highest average space between he and his defender than anyone else in the league. He’s not washed at all.
Does he want to play with one of the top QBs he named? He didn’t name DJ, so if that’s what he wants, the Giants probably aren’t a big contender for his services. Does he want money and doesn’t care where he plays? There are probably other her teams that can pay more.
The Giants are sort of the in-between option. Good QB but not one his top guys. Team on the rise but not obviously ready to win a ring (unlike, say, KC, Buffalo or Philly). The Giants could probably clear enough cap space to give him a nice deal but not the most.
The Jets probably make more sense for him. Short window with Rodgers, win-now team…
The team that makes the most sense cap wise is NE. They have 14 million this year and 122 million next year.
Loser mentality. Maybe we should just stop drafting too?
Should they decide to, I am all in.
LETS GO GIANTS !!!
