So I have DTV and in equipment and fees I am paying and extra $73.98. Add this to the $114.00 I pay for the Choice tv package the total comes to 188.97. I also pay for HBOMAX (Now Max) which is $14.99 a month (which my wife refuses to give up).
I have been looking at YoutubeTV which is 72.99 a month after the first 3 months (64.99 for first 3). I am planning to get the Sunday ticket. I could get both TV and package for $249 v(football package) plus the 72.99 for the tv.
Are there any fees I dont know about? What is your opinion on YOutubeTV?
Thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks
Having tried several TV streaming services I can say I think YouTubeTV is easily the best.
It definitely doesn’t take 3 minutes. Are you running it on windows 95?
The one thing I would advise is to make sure you have a good streaming device and a strong internet connection. You can probably get by with a smart tv, but if that's glitchy I'd recommend investing in a Roku or Apple TV (I've had issues with YouTube TV on the Fire Cube).
You can subscribe to HBO Max separately for $15.99 (it went up in price recently) and watch it through the app the same streaming device.
2) I get my Internet from the local cable company (I don’t get any channels etc from them, just Internet access)
3) I use an Apple TV box to access / organize my steaming services, including “basic YouTube” (I pay for no commercials)
4) I get my local channels from DirecTV
5) My wife is not tech savvy and in spite of having an Apple TV box on “her TV”, she almost never watches anything that is streamed.
If I sign up for YouTubeTV and drop DirecTV, will I have to get local channels from either my cable provider or get an antenna?
Thanks in advance.
No hidden fees

YoutubeTV will give you your local channels. I get them all through YTTV
Here’s a tip though: make sure you have a fast smart tv interface. We have a new Apple TV box and it makes all the difference. Fast, you can switch between apps as fast as you switch channels on cable, it runs the other apps in the background so you can pick up on YES or YTTV or other apps without relaunching the app. We have a FireTV stick and it works, but switching between apps is slow. The Apple TV makes all the difference.
It sucks they dropped a few sports stations so I added a few that you pay extra for but still worth it IMO.
