and again with apologies because I'm low on time, I don't foresee Judge ever repeating last year, whereas I think Ohtani will continue to repeat his current excellence for many years to come. I get that so far Judge has been great this year; if he stays at this level I will be an extremely happy camper.
It is not a lifetime achievement award.
I expect Ohtani will stay a very good player, also. I expect Judge to remain a very good player. There is, what, 2 or maybe 3 years difference in age.
The initial claim was that Judge is the best player in baseball, not who deserved to win the MVP last year (as I've said repeatedly it's Judge).
My friends in baseball have always said to take the defensive metrics with a grain of salt, for what it's worth.
If I were starting a team today I'd take Ohtani. But as a Yankees fan I wouldn't trade Judge for anyone.
on season win totals without really thinking them through. I went over on both the Rangers and Angels, and then afterwards realized I was implicitly fading the Mariners. I can't see Seattle not at least getting in the Wild Card hunt. Thank goodness for the A's!
(With these new schedules, it matters a bit less.)
I mean obviously the report that Rizzo is "available" is nonsense. So exactly how is popping up, a weak grounder and missing a 2-1 BP fastball and k'ing Boone's fault?

There's a reason they're bringing Stanton back after 1 rehab game....

Kirby looks damn good.

Def the right move there.

0-0 after 7 innings.

That kid attacks the zone, you like to see that in a young pitcher. The kid was a Yankee fan growing up, from Rye, NY they said. Like that arm.
