0-3 in his one rehab game (at AA) and gets activated? How many Ks will he have before he gets his timing back?
Great to get Stanton back.

such a great knowledge of the yankees farm and a really good poster. Awesome twitter follow as well....and I've seen nothing from him either here or on twitter in ages.

So is Florial, who is hitting .322 with 12 HRs. Unfortunately, he is out of options and is not on the 40 man.

turns out he's still active on twitter and the twitter algo decided to just stop publishing him to my feed.
Some of you guys just can't quit Florial

This is, what, his third or fourth go-round in AAA? Also, while he's been crushing the ball, he still has 59 Ks in 38 games.

And Cole Calhoun, who has hit well since they picked him up, just opted out. But we had the chance to watch Franchy strike out again last night because he is on the 40 man.

Can you keep your whining to a single thread? You started your own “Aaron Boone sucks!” thread. Keep the incessant whining there. Miserable fuck.

Maybe take a break from the Yankees? You clearly hate everything about them. Just as you always do

Love you too. I suspect i've been a Yankees fan longer than you've been alive. I've long supported Cashman and Boone. But some of their decisions just make you shake your head. At some point it's obvious they aren't getting it done. Last night made absolutely no sense.

Just like some of their personnel decisions have made no sense. Calhoun had a really good spring and what did they do? Send him down and add Boston's cast-off. Hamilton had a great spring and they sent him down so they could trade for McKay, a Rays castoff. How often does a struggling player finally get a few hits and Boone sits him the next game or two?

Then there is Cashman's love of trading for players who have been injured. They traded for Montas as he was coming off a shoulder injury, giving up three of their best pitching prospects. Losing Whitlock to the Red Sox was maddening.

Why can't they develop starting pitchers? One every 10 years does not cut it. The Rays keep turning mid round picks into quality starters. The Yanks let Cortez go in the rule 5 and then released him before resigning him and only giving him a chance because of injuries. Why? He didn't fit their metrics.

At some point you have to ask why a team with their payroll and resources can't break thru. They keep struggling to score in the playoffs and Cashman keeps adding pitching and running out the same low contact lineup.

Pointing out problems isn't being negative. It's being realistic. The Yankees have not been to the WS since 2009 and have one title since 2000. Do you think that's success? Since 2009 the Red Sox have two titles, the Giants 3, Houston has won twice and lost in the series two other times. The Dodgers have won 1 out of 3, KC won 1 out of 2.

Think about this. Cashman has delivered one title in 22 years. That is the worst stretch in their history.

You being a fan longer than I’ve been alive is EXACTLY what I’m talking about. I’m 51 years old so that just means that you are in the EXACT demographic that the entire world laughs about. Old ass miserable fucks that do nothing but reminisce about the “good ole days”. Not one person on the planet gives one single shit that you watched Mickey Mantle play. Or seen Maris hit number 61. Nobody. Yet you clowns continue to act like because you were there when Babe Ruth made his MLB debut that you’re smarter fans than everyone else.

I can’t wait for the next call into the Kay show from an ancient Yankees fan that just can’t wait to school us all on how long they’ve been a Yankee fan and then laughably think it automatically means the audience is impressed. When reality is that the entire world just rolls their eyes and tunes right out. You clowns have become a caricature.

“I’ve been a Yankee fan since 1937…”.

And nobody gives a shit!

Holy hyperbole Batboy. Me thinketh thou drinks far too much to be able to be that abrasive.

Anyway, I find it hard to nitpick every last thing in a 162 game season, I can wait for the playoffs to hate on Boone.

I'm glad they're bringing Stanton back right away, his presence in the lineup alone is worth it.

The man has been hitting baseballs for 12/13 years in MLB? I think he knows how to hit. Plus, Kay said they can make the pitching machines do just about any pitch thrown. He has been on the machines for a while.
If Stanton tells Boone he is ready to hit, then he is ready to hit. He'll be rusty for a couple/three games whether in AA or MLB.
Please stop being so mean

I keep seeing his BA and HR and think why isn't he getting the call. I am torn by him because the last couple of years he absolutely shat the bed with his chances. On the other hand, he didn't get nearly enough of a chance at any point, with no consistent playing time. As much as I think he may ultimately just be a AAA or AAAA player, I still wouldn't mind seeing him over Corcdero, Calhoun, or allen.
I think DJLM may end up being the odd man out.
Matt M. : 6/1/2023 10:55 pm : link
He isn't hitting and doesn't have a position as long as Donaldson and Rizzo are healthy. He may need to be traded, if anyone will take him at his salary. I don't see Hal wanting to eat much of his salary.

With Bader out, IKF, who is starting to hit, may see more time in CF or LF and Boone seems committed to Donaldson playing every day. That doesn't leave much for DJLM.

This is what I wanted last year, as early as July. Last year I would have sat Donaldson, moved IKF to 3b, played Peraza every day at SS and Cabrera all over. Instead we got more of Cabrera, IKF, and Donaldson. Peraza was wasted last year.

Flash forward, even though I don't think we got to see enough of him last year, Peraza is looking similar to Florial and not cut out for a full time role in MLB. Likewise, Cabrera isn't hitting at all, but at least his glove gave them versatility.

If Volpe starts hitting more consistently, Peraza will be a quick afterthought, unless Torres is gone.

Oh the irony!

Maybe you had a rough night but honestly reading your post has you sounding like the old ass miserable fuck you’re complaining about.

I get how constant complaining and nit picking can get old and tiresome, but K2 made some valid points in his last post. Specifically pointing out other teams successes and the long Yankee drought, in spite of their huge payroll.

Personally I think if he was still alive George would be furious at that and leading the cheers for it to get fixed. He’d never stand for that long of a drought and fans have good reason to be pissed and not stand for it either.
I'll never ever be excited by Donaldson
bigbluehoya : 6/2/2023 8:28 am : link
but sliding Stanton in really gives the lineup a big face-lift.

My "A" lineup for the time being would be:

Torres 2B
Judge RF
Rizzo 1B
Stanton DH
Bauers/Calhoun LF
Donaldson 3B
Volpe SS
Trevino C
Allen CF

A bench of DJLM, IKF, Calhoun gives contact bats from both sides, a touch of speed, and 2 versatile defensive players.

Easy enough to get DJLM 3-4 starts per week with days off for Rizzo, Stanton, Gleyber, Bauer.

3-4 for IKF as well between Bauers, Allen, Volpe.

Hot hand between Bauers and Calhoun.

DJ has 4 years and 60 mill still coming to him so he would be very difficult to deal. He needs to sit for a few days. Just doesnt seem to be an every day player anymore
Before prospect fatigue catches up to Peraza, we should bring him up
Jim in Hoboken : 6/2/2023 10:44 am : link
and find a role for him. With Donaldson up, that’s virtually impossible now.

Peraza is not Florial, it’s good to see him heating up after a disappointing spring. Maybe after Donaldson proves to be the corpse that he really is, we can DFA him and bring Peraza up.

Volpe doesn’t have the defensive chops for SS. Same with Torres, maybe he will hit better once moved to 2B. Peraza should be the SS of the future until Arias declares himself.

I think it is much too early to place that label on Peraza. He is still very young, has excelled at every level in the minors, and so far only had a cup of coffee in the majors. Lets see what happens when he has seen some extensive playing time in the big league before labelling him a career utility player or backup.
Peraza has hit well in the minors
Greg from LI : 6/2/2023 3:19 pm : link
And hit pretty well in his cup of coffee last year. It astonishes me that so many people seem to be giving up on a 23 year old who plays a slick shortstop and has hit well in the minors because he had a bad spring training. IMO, if things break right, your starting infield next season is Torres at third, Peraza at short, Volpe at second.
Yanks should win Saturday and possibly Friday
5BowlsSoon : 6/2/2023 6:19 pm : link
Sunday is another matter. Dodgers other rookie call up, Bobby Miller, is killing it….unlike Saturday’s rookie, Michael Grove.

Clayton Kershaw went from being pitcher of the month in April to Stinker of the month in May. Let’s see what June has in store for him. So tonight’s game is the biggest unknown for me. Saturday- Yanks; Sunday- LA

4-0 in the first inning, LOL.
