Googs had his good points. I've been banned twice and I'm lucky enough to still be here. But I'm watching every word I write :) Let's see if I make someone's list before the thread is over. Btw, if you've never experienced it, it's a really creepy feeling to go to post something and get a message that your account has been deleted.
Just stick to the food threads and you will be fine.
BTW southern Utah was beautiful. Bryce, capitol reef, the arches, canyonlands and zion......wow.....
And the lands in between could also be national parks.
And yes the food and beer selection sucks all over the state!
Saw him at the Jacksonville game. Thought he posted after that.
How about Rocky Thompson. Met Rocky in Tampa at the 2000 Super Bowl. We had a good time. Went out a couple times. He was let back in a couple years ago under another name but didn't last long.
Thought both of them added a lot but I didn't get into it with either.
was a hot mess. Had football knowledge but contributed 2% knowledge and 98% bashing of others. He brought the discourse on this board down in a bad way. I was glad to see him go.
I don't understand how a poster who would launch personal attacks and call anyone who disagreed with him a cunt or a fucking idiot could be considered a "good poster"
Remmeber how he would call anyone who dared question Gettleman's moves the most vilest of names? How's that working out now dipshit
At some point when a poster almost exclusively comes to a site to tell everyone how stupid they are and how much he hates the site, it's simply trolling. That activity was surely not missed this last season.

Hey Fred, hope you're well. I talked to FMIC at the Jax game. I don't think he was banned. I think he's chosen to not post much.
I never had a problem with FMIC, but I know he rubbed some the wrong way. I try to be nice with everyone, including those I disagree with (even those who really piss me off and that can be challenging). FMIC has a different approach (ha ha)
No clue if he's banned or even posts anymore, but BMac-I believe that's his handle-is one miserable human being. And I'm sure if he's still around, he'll come & take a pot shot @ me like he has in the past. I have no clue what I did to offend him, but I've seen him be insufferable to others too.

For a guy who just joined in Nov 22 you seem to know a lot of past history...what were your previous handles?
but I don't really enjoy anyone being banned. Granted this place, like everywhere, has its share of assholes, part of being a grown up is learning you won't get along with everyone and just finding ways to co-exist.
I have had a dust up here and there with posters, but no matter how wrong they were (lol) I never wanted them banned I would just limit my interactions with them. And I also realize my opinions are my opinions and again, no matter how wrong someone else may be they are still entitled to their opinion.

That dude was annoying as hell. He once tried to get me in trouble at my work back in the day. I've backed off posting since that time.
Ah, Dave in DC! Always wondered what happened to him. I remember he started off as a good poster but then entered a phase where every post was odd and abrasive. I could never figure out whether he thought it would be fun to become a troll (his posts weren't funny enough for that) or he'd actually gone off the deep end.

Right. I'd never want you to be banned. I need you to learn your lesson and better yourself for the next time. Life is a learning process.
seemed to have been tied to the numerous Daniel Jones discussions. Once they signed him to his new contract, things changed here.
Not sure whether some posters who were banned were the guys who were so anti Jones, but I do not see those people posting anymore.
yep, it's so odd that some folks could spend countless hours and weeks, months, investing in vitriol and analysis, some of it valid, directed at one player and have that raison d'etre go poof and disappear
RE: RE: Many of the posts that contained personal attacks..
2. Why? Unless you're joking, I don't really remember any fiery exchanges between you and I. Only thing I really remember is a few debates about music which it in itself is irrelevant. I easily forget all of that stuff the second I stop posting on the thread.
I'd never want to see you go, that'd be pretty weak of me.
with that guy who'd always respond to threads about "best instrumentalist" with these massive lists that seemed random as hell, and he got super pretentious when someone offered Paul McCartney in a "best rock bassists" thread. I don't know if he got banned, but his look-at-how-much-I-know lists were annoying as fuck even without his "I'm sorry, but if you think _________ is good at guitar you don't know nearly as much about music as *I* do" attitude.

As much as some posters have annoyed me, I've never wanted anyone banned. Ass the old saying goes, opinions are like assholes, we all have one.
That said, I don’t miss a certain poster or 2. Won't mention names, but I don’t miss the ones who shat on Jones a hundred times a day and stated with such arrogant certainty that all the legitimate shit going against Jones were "just excuses" and that he was going to suck forever. Not gonna lie, i enjoy the site better without them.
1. Trolls who don’t actually have an opinion and are just here to start shit because they are bored. And 2. People who have opinions and can’t just stick to that and instead get way too personal.
The former being banned makes complete sense and no one should have an issue with it. The later I’d never root for it happening but also don’t feel bad when it does.
Don't know if he was banned--he did change and returned under a different handle but was unmistakably the same obnoxious and usually wrong poster--his takes were so off and usually ill-informed. He would then claim, repeatedly, that if you went back and reviewed the videotape, you'd see that he had been proven right all along, and he told you so. Man, he was irritating, on Rangers' threads and I think on Mets' threads, from the random comments I saw.
FMiC: He could be, or is, often in attack mode when he did not agree--I had to laugh when he called out 'fucktards'. I didn't have run ins with him; though I guess I was a bit slow not to recognize when it was repeatedly pointed out that he was implicitly or explicitly defending management, DG.
I did not mind at all seeing Britt in VA go, the upper crust of Legacy BBI, he never, ever bothered to reply to my replies to his posts. Holier and better than thou. Not the only one of that ilk.
Speaking of legacy: Barilko had some football smarts, imo, and it seemed he had serial bannings...apparently some dark stuff going on his neck of the woods. Some posters were very close to him.
Jimmy Googs: this again may be my myopic take, but he was always, in low key sarcasm mode, imo, in his way pointing out the absurdities of lots of posters, whether you agree that posts were absurd or not--he was the anti-poster.
Not banned, afaik, but jcn56 just disappeared; smart guy, Brooklynite?
Chris in Philly: don't hear nearly enough from him
Under most circumstances, except when you disagree with me, I like you, Brett. And I've never known you to have reading comprehension issues, cuz it was clear I was in full bloom love with some of the posters mentioned.

The online toughguys who do nothing but throw personal attacks rub me the wrong way.
I never read any of his posts, before my time, but my first year on BBI people kept insisting that I was actually Bill Barilko
Really? Lol. I just have missed that as you finding be more different.
Me too - funniest thing about them was the gnashing and wailing of those who took offense to being called out for dopey hot takes.
Remmeber how he would call anyone who dared question Gettleman's moves the most vilest of names? How's that working out now dipshit

I'm actually with you on this.

I am always bummed when I take a look at an old thread and see the number of interesting posters with a big red "account suspended."
I think most eventually were asking for it, but not always.
Maybe it's just inevitable the anonymity of the internet draws something out of people.

Wasn't that Scott in WVU or Morgantown? Huge West Virginia fan.. He was funny. THICKONES... YUP

hey, John. It's bbq season. Drop by once in a while :)

Wow. That's insane. Over a web site disagreement. I call him. Not fondly either

Yes. It was Scott
(Something) the Axman

Jeff in the Vomitorium is one of the better handles of all time.
He was a douche and a fraud.
Not sure whether some posters who were banned were the guys who were so anti Jones, but I do not see those people posting anymore.
Are raison d'etres those chocolate coated ones? I love those
Hey, wait! You’ve been banned (at least according to one happy poster…)
I’d never want you banned. Your handle reminds me too much of the good old days on the Jersey shore…
The thing about Spree - his vitriol, though ferocious, was eloquent. Like a guy who would steal your watch to tell you the time.
Any of you “old timers” have any Spree experiences?
IIRC, he was / is a lawyer.
I haven't really had any problems where I wish anyone was banned.
Holy crap, that guy was something else. But honestly, I never really like it when someone is banned.
I was very happy to see Headhunter gone.
Didn't see this post until now. Thanks pivo.
1. I was never banned.

Joke didn't land. I posted that right after you commented. I was just busting your balls.
