if we could get some offense out of Donaldson.
See this one s what I love about the MLB

The ump is awful. Screwing the Yanks out of ABs all night. It's just a matter of time before some gets tossed, then of course Boone will too, and then he pays for it with suspensions. So the Ump is awful and can't do his job, then the team gets screwed over and over with ejections.

may have cost Judge an AB with the bases loaded. Ugh.
meh, he looked like he was gonna be purty out regardless
wigs in nyc : 6/2/2023 11:34 pm : link
but it really begs the question, why some guys cant find it in themselves to bust it every time.

Gleyber just dives me crazy. He’s so damn lethargic out there like he’s just going through the motions. Gary Sanchez syndrome. It’s annoying as hell. The dude is immensely talented but always seems like his mind is somewhere else
Last week, IKF had a triple at the Stadium
shyster : 6/3/2023 1:14 pm : link
and as YES went to the replay, O'Neill was ready with the cliche, "it's how you get out of the box."

But what the replay actually showed was IKF coasting down to first base and not turning on the jets until the ball bounced backed off the base of the outfield wall, and well past the CF, presenting the real opportunity for a triple.

That's the way the game is played, in great part. Players calibrate their effort according to the likelihood the effort will accomplish something. And it's sensible to do so, because they have human muscles, not robotic limbs.

Yanks have 3 members of their "A" lineup who have missed, or will miss, substantial playing time because of hamstring injuries. Busting out of the box 100% every time, regardless of circumstance, would make one a candidate to join that list.

Cole's stuff looking electric as usual but then a dink hit and a 4-pitch walk.... Ugh, c'mon Gerrit
That was some great work by Cole last inning.
Dave in Hoboken : 6/3/2023 8:33 pm : link
Clearly had very little command and worked out of 1st and 2nd with no outs and didn't give up a run.
Judge goes deep!

Yup. And a great DP there. Cole is a gamer.
Cole gets pulled at 80 pitches.

Cole decision is difficult because he has pitched poorly in the 7th inning in so many games this year. However; I would have sent him out there to go batter to batter. Once he gave up a baserunner, I would have pulled him. For some reason, Boone seems to not understand this concept.
Cole was “cramping.”

That explains it.
Volpe’s becoming unplayable.

Boone goes batter to batter all the time- what are you talking about?

Yeah the usual criticism on here is that he does NOT give relievers clean innings.
Who is Boone going to close the game with

And it turned out that his play saved the game. I thought he had virtually no chance to catch it and he'd have to play it off the wall

Volpe is not recognizing the outside half of the plate. He's constantly swinging at outside pitches off the plate and MLB pitchers will keep on exploiting it until he develops a better eye
Judge is the best player on the planet

You Ohtani fans on here can lick my balls.

The answer is Aaron Judge.
Judge was a bit fortunate that he didn't step on the bottom

of that chain-link fence when he crashed through it. Any number of things could have happened injury-wise
