Anyone have any experience with any of these systems, like Lifeline - where you have a medical emergency, can't get to a phone, so you press a button, and this whole mechanism takes over for calling an ambulance and getting you care?
Mother is 75, had an emergency last night - pneumonia causing shortness of breath and panic attack. Her husband has advancing Alzheimers and wasn't able to make sense of dialing 911. Long story short, she was finally able to summon EMTs who got her to the hospital. She's probably going to be okay, but now we're thinking about the next time this happens, and how we can streamline the process of getting her help quickly.
I see that other companies are using Amazon as a platform for their services, but I'm not seeing where Amazon has their own service.
They also have a fall detection system.
Their customer and tech support have been very good, which has been especially helpful to me since I live a 1000 miles away from my mother…

This is the best, used it for mom’s later years and it was comforting when we, sadly, had to use it.
Get the fall detection, it works. They also have call buttons that you can place on a table or wall. I found these were more for comfort that there were options.
You can set up your own phone tree, which can revert to 911 if there are no live answers. There are live people calling, so you can even leave diretions with them if there are issues 911 should know about (such as access), or the location of medical info.
I looked into this a lot at the time, chose them, zero complaints. I didn’t get the cell enabled version because mom would not be roaming without assistance, but it’s available.
Wishing you the best as you care for your mom and dad.
One day she fell in the bathroom and was only found because a neighbor came over. My mother wasn't sure how long she had been there.
Even after that, she said she didn't like the necklace and won't wear it.
I'm out of state from her, and wish she'd just put it on.

Bay Alarm comes with a wrist band that you can put the sensor/button in.
Having a key lock box is great. I didn't know that was a feature. I went through many ambulance calls for my Mother and Wife. They always ask if there is a door that is unlocked. I was going to suggest to not lock a door when at home if they live in a safe place. That and trying to carry my phone with me is what I do now that I am alone.
EMTs know where to find information that might affect treatments. Putting all this together involved constructive conversations.
