is the best option? I'm going to sign up for You Tube TV this week to get the $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket before that offer expires on Tuesday. For those of you that made the move already, did you go NFL Sunday Ticket standalone option or go "all in" with You Tube TV plus Sunday Ticket? I'm still with DirecTV and wondering if I just cut the cord completely with them and switch everything over to You Tube TV.
We didn't sign up with YouTube TV because they don't carry some stations that we like to watch.
I ditched Directv though. Get ready for an onslaught of phone calls asking why you disconnected. They called me every day. Never left a voice mail. I talked to three different people and finally I told the last one don't call me again and hung up.
The money I pay in DVR and other boxes alone almost covers YouTube TV.
My understanding is NO. That's how I've had the sunday ticket for a few years now. I'm not interested in spending 400+ for the service. I am out of market and only really interested in the Giants games, so I'll just use vpn and the app of whatever channel it's on.
This is where I am. Have had YTTV for 2 years now, and found ways to watch the Giants (before this I did have DirecTV and Sunday Ticket). I jumped on the $249 for Sunday ticket price. One year I paid $199 anyway for Intl NFL Gamepass, and it wasn't anywhere near as good as Sunday Ticket.
Yes, I know that I can likely find Giants games on VPN, or through some other means. And I understand how others are frustrated by having to pay for this service, think it's too much $$, etc.
Personally, I am willing to pay for the convenience of knowing that I can turn on my TV and not miss any Giants game - plus I can watch any other out of market game. Not having to watch the Commanders as the main TV game will be a nice change.
YTTV doesn't have YES or MSG. I don't understand how there are so many relatively local sports fans on here who have gone with YTTV. I think their interface and they seemed like a good platform when we gave them a trial run, but there was never a chance we were going to not have YES or MSG when sports is the main reason we keep a live-channel streaming service in the first place. And YES in particular is the big one - I would strongly prefer to not have to watch the Yanks via the YES app, because I'm always flipping back and forth with something else during a Yankees game - that works fine with different channels on the same streaming service; not so much when switching between different streaming apps.
If you root for the Yankees and any local NHL and/or NBA teams, DirecTV Stream is the only viable streaming choice, IMO. Obviously there's a completely different set of considerations for out-of-market customers and I'm not sure how the NY RSNs are treated for customers in other DMAs, but knowing that YES and MSG simply aren't available at all on YTTV would give me pause, personally.
