Evidently there is a lot of chatter out there about a number of players gambling and gambling from NFL facilities. I have been told that some players bet on their own teams. And some players made very low bets, like $10, thus risking potentially millions in salary on a meaningless bet.
Any info out there? Is my info just rumor and trash, which it could be?
But if true, any Giants gonna get swept up in this investigation.
The Athletic spent the last week interviewing NFL players around the league to ask what they know about the league’s gambling policy and found that four of the five players didn’t know they couldn’t place mobile bets on other sports while at work, the violation Williams and Berryhill were suspended for.

Odds are, it's probably not the biggest names making huge money who are placing bets, but as a matter of volume, even losing a significant number of lower-paid starters has the chance to compromise the games.
I liked it better when it was all illegal and done on the hush, hush.

They are allowed to gamble on other sports, but they cant do it inside the facility

For those that never read it Mark Bavaro wrote an interesting book where football gambling was part of the story line.

So if you work somewhere that has any sponsorship/partnership interests with booze/beer companies, should you be allowed to be drunk on the job?
Why is it difficult for people to understand that the advertisements are for the fans, not the players? The players get money out of those sponsorships, that doesn't mean they're allowed to gamble (at their worksite, in particular), and it doesn't make it hypocritical to have rules that prevent it. In fact, front office and support staff are under even stricter guidelines than the players.
