The reported money that the Saudi's were offering him was insane. I don't watch soccer but one report claimed that they offered him over $330 million a year.
that is some welcomed us sports news on the heels of the pga/liv stuff
should be fun. Hopefully he comes and plays. Not sure the ins and outs but i was excited when LAFC signed Bale (of course Bale isnt Messi) but it felt like he barely played and if he did it was never a full game. No idea if that was the plan or the only way he would sign and i know he had a slight injury at one point, but it was kinda disappointing to see a player of his caliber come to the MLS and then not really play much.
Not saying Messi is going to do this and i doubt he will since it sounds like this is a very creative deal with the MLS and Apple so im sure the idea is going to be that he is coming over here to play.
finally decided to stop ducking from competition and join the best soccer league in the world. There's hope for him yet as being in the MLS will only enhance his legacy...
of the profits from the Apple+ deal and Adidas sales. Plus he gets to chill out in Miami at the end of his career. Sounds like he made the right decision for his family all around.

I believe his family lives there at least part time. This reminds me of when Pele joined the Cosmos at the end of his career.
Messi is 35 years old and has nothing left to prove or play for on the pitch except money. If he wants to live with his wife and 3 sons in a culture and geography close to Argentina good for him.
I saw Pele play in person quite a bit it will be fun to see Messi if this happens.
Isn't it though, as if PGA bought by/married to MBS wasn't enough? Where did the days of El Clàssico go?

I see reports that Messi has rejected the Saudis, but that it's still open between Barca and Miami.
Lol. I see what you did there.
