The Giants did not call for the deep ball too often in Year 1 of the new system under coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka. ... some success when he did throw the ball downfield last season. His 119.3 passer rating on deep passes was the third-highest in the NFL, while his 43.5 deep completion percentage ranked ninth. |

I’m not sure what it is, but I’m drinking the Kool-aid now that he’s a top 10ish QB.
Once you make a defense have to defend both the run/pass things really open up and they have the QB to hit those plays imv.
Good times.

Has an above average deep ball, but there’s a narrative out there that he is scared to throw it. He needs to throw it deep this season. It’s the only way the running game will flourish to its full potential.
Maybe the 2 inch separation of his P/S receivers had something to do with it?
Or the milliseconds he had to throw before he was hit.
There’s been a lot of narratives about Jones since he s been drafted.
I almost miss the hard core haters. Almost, but not.
I almost miss the hard core haters. Almost, but not.
So many mocked where he was drafted, and find it almost impossible to back track a bit and admit, he s not that bad, he s actually pretty good.
It would explain why his success last season is dismissed with one stat, 15 touchdown passes.
Of course that ignores the 7 he ran for, or the fact that Saquon was a pretty effective weapon in the red zone, which reduced the number of throws into the end zone in scoring position
It also doesn’t take into account there were no receivers who would take a 10 yard slant, or a swing pass 65 yards to the end zone after the catch
I keep reading if Jones can up his game. His game was pretty special last season. If he plays at the same level with better weapons, Giants offense takes a giant leap.
Oh almost forgot, “what about the Eagle game”
Same thing happened to Daniel that happened to Mahomes a few years back when his O line was overwhelmed in the Super Bowl
Daniel is a very good football player, just like Simms was

Sorry for double post
Football is the ultimate team sport. You need a qb that can read it and make the throws, tackles to stop the edge rush, iol to protect the pocket for the qb to step up, wrs to stretch the field vertically and take the top off a defense and a coach with balls to be aggressive. A good run game also helps keep the defense honest.
We will have growing pains with the rt still improving, a rookie c, one speedster still being a rookie but the pieces are starting to line up
Good times.
I remember those same posters having significantly higher contract projections than you did for DJ.
You're not bright enough to earn any victory laps.
