-The Mets begin the day 7.5 games behind the Phillies, who are currently in possession of the last wildcard spot in the NL.
-The Nats are playing relatively well going into this series having won 6 of their last 10 games.
-The weather today might be a little spotty; the game is on SNY.
-There are only 5 more days to go until the trade deadline. The Mets are off on Monday, July 31st.
-Alvarez isn't playing today; Narvaez is catching today and batting 9th.

vientos has hits in 4 of the 5 games he's appeared in since his recall. 5/14 with a double. almost all of them hard hit balls over 100mph.
it is just beyond moronic that it's almost august and buck keeps trotting out these abject losers.

There need to be consequences. too bad they'll have to come in the offseason since Uncle Steve gave Buck and Eppler a pass for the rest of the season.

I don't think anyone else can play OF right now, I agree with the spot in the lineup though, brutal.
