Disclaimer: I do not like Toney. I'm thrilled he's not here. I'm giddy (and stunned) we were able to foist him on the Chiefs and get what we got, and turning that pick into Waller is nothing less than alchemy.
That said, another receiver cut right in front on his face on his last drop just after the ball was released; the throw was so low it might have been intended for the other guy. Once his vision was unblocked he had a blink to react to a crotch level ball.
He's earned the schadenfreude, but IMO not on that ball.
that when you don't practice, aren't focused in meetings, or out there on the field working/communicating with players even if not in full pads, there's a major impact.
One of Schoen's best moves is moving Toney out and getting Waller in, even if Waller only stays one or two years here. He made a little something that could deliver more, out of nothing/distraction that wouldn't go away unless you made a move.

This is exactly what BBI used to do with Engram. "The throw was a little off....the throw was behind him a bit..."
I know some will say it was thrown behind him, but an NFL WR has to catch that ball. It is impossible for a QB to throw every pass exactly in the perfect place, plus the defense is out there so sometimes you are throwing to gaps between them. It was a pass surely good enough to be a completion. Kelcie would have had no problem.
but last night was a little glimpse into the BBI discussion that we've been having here for years going back to the late stages of Eli's career, which is, if you put garbage around a QB and you're likely to get garbage results. I hope all the guys (we know who they are) who talked about how Daniel Jones couldn't turn the likes of a washed Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay, Toney and all the rest of the pedestrian skill position crew he's been saddled with into a well oiled machine were watching last night.
Mahomes is a great player and he has my respect in so many ways. I don't even think this is a knock on him, but no Kelce and a bunch of clowns at WR and all of a sudden the Chiefs put up 20 points at home in perfect conditions. It makes perfect sense to me.
Going into that game I was not thinking about Toney at all. I was just happy football is back and two good teams were playing. I haven't given much space in my head to him even when I saw posts on here in the off season. But watching him fail hard last night became the best part of opening day.
that when you don't practice, aren't focused in meetings, or out there on the field working/communicating with players even if not in full pads, there's a major impact.
Absolutely agree, and was going to post the same thing. Show up to camp out of shape, never practice for one reason or another, and this is what you get.
I also love this argument of "Toney helped them win a Super Bowl."
He had a really nice punt return, and was wide open by about 20 yards on that touchdown play on the goal line. That was his only catch of the game. He had 1 catch for 9 yards in the AFC Champ game.
RE: Send this to Kelce and ask him if he still doesn’t understand
Said a certain company is "kadariousing" themselves today. Also said that Toney was the best player on the Lions.
Hahaha
Cramer is an eagle fan so he’s probably still pissed that Toney helped beat them in the Super Bowl, those two plays may end up being th height point of his career!
RE: RE: Send this to Kelce and ask him if he still doesn’t understand
I tried to warn him when the trade was made. Didn't want to pee in his cereal, but wanted to prepare him - for the knucklehead.
... from a Chiefs fan site:
Toney wishes he was just invisible. I mean yes, he was mostly invisible with just 1 reception for 1 yard. But he had perhaps the worst performance by a receiver I’ve ever seen. He had tons of drops. And not just regular drops, but absolutely brutal ones. The drop leading to the pick-6 was bad enough, but even with that the Chiefs would have likely won had he caught the other 4 targets that went his way. I’d even go as far as to say the Chiefs would have won had he caught just one of them. Toney, more than any other player (including Hutchinson), was responsible for the outcome of the game.

Toney and Ritchie helped out big time last night....
His night reminded me instantly of EE, except EE never had one as bad, never ran his mouth and I actually felt bad for EE.

If your hands touch it you should catch it.

No. Catch the fucking ball.
Turned into Waller and Hawkins, PLUS the addition by subtraction of a player who might be the complete opposite of "smart, tough and dependable".
Brilliant!

Yeah, EE seems like a good guy and a team player. Not like joka.
Besides that, fuck im

The amount of memes ive seen today is incredibly impressive. I love them all

Thanks for the 3rd and 6th rounder though, Andy!

It's easy for us to make fun, but it's complicated, and Kelce's still working it out.
Couldn't happen to a nicer group of guys....
I remember the first couple touches he got in a Giants uniform too and thinking "Uh oh".
Even when he's on the field, he's not very good.
Hahaha

That fucking guy does everything he can to not practice and it shows up on the field.
Our thanks to the hilarious, nefarious, not careious, Kadarious.
Instead, it should be turnover on Toney.

You can get away with that if you're Lawrence Taylor. Mere mortals cannot.

Arrogance I don't mind, its impudence I can't stand.
And also it looks like 55 is choking the defender.

We let him out by a firm hand placed in the middle of his back.
