I know the competition wasn’t exactly Micah Parsons, but he really held down the fort with Thomas’ absence. Would it be crazy to move him to the right side when Thomas is healthy?
I know that since they got the W, some of Neal’s gaffe’s could be overlooked, but he wasn’t exactly good against a below average defensive line. Obviously Daboll and the coaches know best, but if they did bench Neal, I’d have a ton of respect for the coaches and the organization making that decision. Not that I don’t already, but it’s hard to not stick with a losing hand when you made such a big investment.
Agreed. But with Bredeson out, Ezeudu will play this week. The only question is whether he plays LT or LG.
Neither Ezeudu or Neal are career offensive tackles. Who are you talking about?
Ezedu was awesome for a LG playing left tackle. Kudos there. Ezedu should be in the starting lineup going forward. Glowinski is toast.
Neal actually played left guard his first year at Bama. He then played Right tackle in his second year, then left tackle in his third.
Yes
I get it, but some handle the switch better than others. It’s not a video game, but most teams value players who can play multiple positions, and so far, that is what Ezeude is doing.
Like I said, I have full trust in the coaching staff and organization, all I’m saying, is that if it came to benching Neal, it would take guts to make that move. Sometimes high draft picks don’t pan out like you would hope, and past coaching staffs have stuck it out with those players which hasn’t worked out.
Then again, anything is good after last week's debacle.

If or when you rewatch the game, or just lookout for SY’s review, I still thought he was leaky in pass protection, but interested to read SY’s review

I thought Neal was good today outside of that hold on the Jones TD run that was called back.

Yeah, I certainly do not claim to be an OL expert so I'm curious on what others have to say. Thanks.

FWIW, both he and McKethan had good blocks on Barkley TD run.
Why? Ezedu never practiced at OT for us, and did just fine yesterday.
So he has experience at LG. Not to mention, this kind of kills the whole excuse of him sucking last year at RT due to the switching of sides from left to right. Neal just stinks at OT, period. Can he turn it around? Maybe. But he may be better off at OG, time will tell.
