What we saw in the second half of the game is what we saw last year. DJ is our MVP and the key to any future success. We need to use the run pass option, the rollout, and the designed run. This loosens the defense and allows DJ to take command of the offense and get into a rhythm. He seemed so in command and confident. Obviously we need our Oline to produce but DJ has the ability make plays out of nothing if needed.
Jones made a number of solid throws, aggressive throws that were the difference in the second half..
I agree but I think we aren’t ready to completely rely on a strictly drop back DJ yet. Not saying he can’t because he obviously can but his running gives us the best option to win at this moment in my opinion.
First half, Drop back 5-7 yards with 2 new OL and pray? What was Kaftka thinking
Second half, RPO more...deeper routes, ran the ball
Its not just him running as they had our number with the bootleg stuff (as did dallas). its rpo/barkley threat and then throw
I’m not disputing that. I agree with you…. But from a scheme perspective his legs give us the best option to win. If we strictly rely on pocket passing until we solve our Oline we’re asking to lose.
but
DJ was stopped at least 4 times by Dallas on such plays designed as QB runs..
Point is this, game planning by good defenses take this play out.
at times yes he will improvise and scramble` but the film is out.
They can win some games if they pass block and go deep.
Imo
