the last two drives we got stops but it was not only because we stepped up our play, we did, but also because Arizona was shooting itself in the foot with penalties (3 false starts on final two drives and the offensive PI penalty)

I mean Cardinals only scored 8 points and only scored on 1 drive in the 2nd half
There is nothing about the 49ers not to be nervous about

We got stops only on the last three drives. One drive they were in scoring position and got killed by a borderline OPI. The next two drives were killed by false starts. Don’t go fooling yourself about what happened.
The deck is clearly stacked against the Giants this week. I’m hoping
he has the speed to break on Mccaffrey in the flat..
It looks like Aiyuk got banged up yesterday so if he is out that at least takes one weapon off the field..
My biggest worry is the San Fran defense, they have the speed at LB to stay with Waller, its going to take a superman effort from Jones
Simmons would get destroyed Vs CMC. That isn’t how you defend a guy like that. He should be getting bracketed a lot. He’s too agile and quick for Simmons. Simmons couldn’t defend Ferguson 1 v 1 Vs cowboys. Got burned on a simple curl on 3rd and 7. Lucky it went through the dudes hands. Zone is the way to defend the 9ers. Can’t man up Vs them. Expect a bunch of hybrid coverages. Half field zone half man etc
you words of encouragement. McCaffrey will likely keep up his assault on the record books Thursday and beyond (until he is injured).
What I can do is help with the nervousness. Don't be nervous. I read a post on here about someone who was "terrified" of Deuce Vaughn. lol. Stop being a pussy.

So Daniel Jones has thrown 3 INTs threw two games—two weren’t his fault at all. You don’t want to look under the hood?!?!? That seems to me to be a foolish thing to do. Glad we got the win, glad the offense woke up, but this team inspires no confidence at this moment that they can take down an elite offense and defense in the niners
is the Giants are coming off an incredibly draining, emotional victory and having to play one of the top teams in football in their stadium without even practicing for the game.

Good luck with that.
I thought they're practicing on short week schedule at ASU.
Here's a flip side for you: the short week is a silver lining because the emotion and positive vibes of the comeback carries right into the next game.
Wouldn't worry so much about McCaffrey and the Niners weapons. The thing that sets them apart if the physicality on both lines. They just destroy people up front and with their LBs too. They are incredibly fast at every position.
Hate any team having this short a week no matter what..its stupid. NFLPA needs to stand up on this
Cardinals put up 28 with a backup QB. And we only stopped them like twice (when it mattered) with help of penalties
SF is going to eat this defense alive. There is nothing positive I can think of with this D right now. No pass rush. Cant stop the run. TE's had their way with us. And the CBs are rookies. D backfield looks lost as Adore should not be the slot
Unless the Offense can hold onto the ball with long drives and not get killed, this game doesn't set up well for us
I can't even see how this game was approved for the schedule, by anyone. The league wants competitive games in primetime.
Aside from the EXTREMELY short week after an emotinal rollercoaster... SF matches up against the Giants the same way Dallas and Philly do. And now we will be without two of our best players in Thomas (likely) and Barkley. With Evan Neal clearly sucking as bad as he did last year.
The way our defense has been playing and the invisibility of our pass rush? I am fully expecting another completely uncompetitive beatdown from SF on Thursday night. I never miss a Giants game... but thank the Lord I am camping in Lake George from Thurs to Sun.

If they get past the first 6 games at 3-3, the season should be salvageable.

3-3 after 6 would be a good start.

The only difference is we really hoped to finally beat Dallas.

That's all I got.
The best they can do is a walk-thru on Tuesday. Can't have a real practice.

Thanks Eric. I guess it's 2 walkthroughs (link).
Well it's only a 2 hour flight and SF has a short week also. And it's not like our normal schedule was leading to early game excellence.
I'm going to take my rose colored glasses off now and get some work done.
