Is that when things are broken, he isn't afraid to make a change. Yes, clearly he took a gamble with the Oline putting two young unknowns out there. His decisions were bold and decisive, which can blow up in a very bad way. But to be honest, I prefer this to what we have seen over the years where we wait forever to pull the trigger, painfully watching something week after week that clearly never going to work.
This team seems to have a mindset of what technologists call "fail fast". Learn from your mistakes, pivot and get them addressed quickly. The early part of the season, as they have acknowledged, you are still learning what you have. But the sooner you can get to the right mix and move on, the better.
which (as of now) is an utter train wreck after two games.
If you recall, the Giants weren't a very good first half team last year. Makes you start to wonder.
Great post, couldn’t agree more. For now, on D more Simmons and Belton please.
Fewer 2-4-5 looks would be a start. Also think we see less of McFadden going forward. He left at least 5 tackles on the field yesterday.
To be fair, defense cranked it up when they had to in the second half. Helped by some bad AZ penalties, of course.
Dex finally showed up in the second half, he wrecked several plays. And I think our rookie CBs are holding up pretty well so far
But also fair to ask the question you did. Where's the pressure? We also look just as bad as last year at setting the edge. Ashawn also had a big stop late in the game
McFadden is killing us so far, as others have said. I like him, but he's just too slow for the modern day NFL.
I think we see a lot more Simmons next to Okereke going forward
Regardless, could be a bloodbath in SF Thursday night
