It's a true restructure, in the sense that it is just bringing money forward, and KC, in theory, still has him for the same 10 years (through 2031) at the same overall dollar amount. There are now void years for 2032 and 2033.

If Mahomes is still playing at the same level five years from now (and out), KC's theoretical contractual ability to make him play for significantly reduced compensation will be only that. They will have to do something else to keep him happy.

Pretty sure Burrows guarantees are much lower.
