I just got back from Phoenix, the area around the Cardinals

Jack Stroud : 9/18/2023 7:58 pm
stadium was like being at a Giants home game! I have been a Giants fan since 1955 and have witnessed a come back like that. The first half was a lot of groans, the second half the joint was jumpin'. I am so happy to have been at that game. Can the Giants get by SF?
Way to represent

giant fans made a big difference in the second half!
During the second half

it appeared to be a Giants home game. The Giants fans were so loud on the Cardinals second to last drive that it lead to two false starts. When was the last time that happened for this franchise?
Cool!

From the tv broadcast it reminded me of that time the Giants came to the Georgia Dome to play the Falcons - the Strahan, Manning, Barber, Shockey team, and Tiki had I think nearly 200 yards. Strahan and the defense were waving towels to get the crowd up, many Falcons fans left so a lot of Giants fans moved down behind the Giants bench and it was practically a home game. Afterwards the Giants players were slapping hands with fans reaching down, as they left the field.

I got that same vibe from the TV broadcast on Sunday, as the second half went along.

I watched first 3 quarters alone in mancave, but wife came up for the 4th after I asked her to bring up more beer, Haha. Anyways, she was like 'I have never seen MetLife look like this.' I had to tell her it was in Glendale, as it really felt like a home game on TV.

Props to all the BBIers who attended. You made a difference.
I was behind the Giants sideline

It was a sea of blue, probably 80% Giants on that side of the stadium downstairs.
Seems that most people who live in Phoenix

are from somewhere else originally.
Glad

You enjoyed your visit. I noticed on pre game on the broadcast the crowd seemed 70% blue

It's also an easy drive from both Vegas and Southern California. My uncle is a new Yorker and he was at the game with his wife also behind the bench. Go big blue! Let's pray the o line starts to hone into a formidable unit. The new faces were showing much more potential than with Glowinski.

SF, you have the womancave with the cold beer cellar under the mancave? This is an optimal floor plan.

And they'd rather go play pickleball than watch the Cardinals.
Mid 4th quarter my wife said the Cardinals crowd

was being so loud they were making it hard on their offense - I said no, those are all the Giants fans! Well done by all you guys at the game, you made a big difference. A couple false starts in the 4th quarter bc the crowd noise was f*cling with their offense was huge
Ive been to

4 games in Phoenix thru the years, I think its safe to say that the Cardinals really don't have a home field advantage.
I noticed
jpennyva : 9/19/2023 8:49 am : link
A few things during the game - the Giants support from the crowd was definitely evident and the cameras cut to Giants fans a TON during the 4th quarter. The commentators even remarked on it.

Well done!
while watching any road NYG game

it always comforts me to see my people in the stands. Even during the darkest of hours I take a lot of solace in that, for some reason. Well done!
We flew back yesterday morning

thank you for the fellas who put together the pre game party at State 48 Funkhouse brewery, my wife (and my bro and his GF) loved that Giants atmosphere.

I think i have some good luck with away games, i was in Nashville last year, a lot of similarities to both of those games. No offense in the first half, a big pass completion on the first play of the second half. 4th Q comeback. Game ended on a made FG vs a missed one was the only difference really.

Also as an aside, the Cardinal fans were really cool, even when they were killing us in the first half. I said this on another thread but on the way out i heard Cards fans talking about how tolerable the Giant fans were vs the Dallas fans
