Fantasy football waiver wire discussion...

D'Andre Swift or Jerome Ford? Both available along with Gabe Davis.
I'd go with Swift as the other HBs are still banged up in philly.
NorcalNYG : 9/19/2023 12:36 am : link
Gabe Davis is solid if u need wr more than rb. If you need a long term rb I'd take Ford over swift, swift will be a good start for a little while until the other rbs are healthy. Ford obviously will be the starter the rest of the year.

It's a 10-team 1/2PPR league, but the teams that drafted Swift and Davis panicked after their week 1 no-shows.
These threads crack me up
BigBlueShock : 9/19/2023 8:12 am : link
I feel like I’m in the wrong leagues every day I open these threads. Not only the ridiculous players that are somehow available on the waiver wire but guys posting their drafts and they have like 6 players they drafted that all go in the 1st round of every draft I’m in. Incredible
Would you make this trade?
pjcas18 : 9/19/2023 8:43 am : link
12-team PPR where we start 2 flexes so QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex (W/R/T), Flex (W/R/T)

I send:
Zach Ertz
AJ Dillon

I get
Kyren Williams

The guy with Williams wants Ertz (most targets in the league through 2 weeks for TE's)

My other TE is Hockenson, I grabbed Ertz off waivers to consider as a flex.

I would make that trade but I'm the guy in last place in a league with Swift and Davis available.
p.s.--I think I'm going with Ford over Swift.
My 2c

Swift is the best RB on the Eagles.

He is better than Gainwell, Penny and Scott. Doesn't mean that is how they'll be used, but talent wise, it's Swift.

Ford has some questions since he was injured last year, but he has less competition. I do think CLE signs Kareem Hunt or another veteran.

So, I would pick Swift, but you may get more touches from Ford at least in the short term.
Here's another question...
Milton : 9/19/2023 9:59 am : link
Last week I picked up Puka Nacua and he is a top ten WR1 as long as Cooper Kupp remains out, so here's what I'm thinking: offer up Godwin or London for Kupp. There's no telling when Kupp will return or how long he will remain healthy when he does get back, so the combination of Kupp and Nacua on my roster would mean that one or the other will be a WR1 for me on game day. My other receivers are Waddle, Dotson, and Rashee Rice (my gamble on greatness who maybe should be replaced by Jalin Hyatt or perhaps Wan'Dale Robinson).

So what do you think of that strategy? And between Godwin, London, and let's throw in Dotson as well, which of the three would you offer in trade and which one would you be most reluctant to offer up?

In a heartbeat. Kyren is the bellcow in a surprising offense, he can be this years lottery ticket.

I need help at TE, it’s my only glaring weakness. Thought Pitt would pass more but Friermuth has been trash. Thinking of picking Dalton back up and just rolling with him to eventually be the #3 (he’s tied with Knox and Cook for 3rd in targets, and 1 behind Davis).

If Kincaid is available I would grab him. The Bills traded up for him in round one, so you know the plan is for him to pass Knox on the depth chart and become a big part of their passing game. He's not there just yet, but he could see him becoming their number two option behind Diggs.
Wonder where Cam Akers and Hunt end up
UConn4523 : 9/19/2023 10:19 am : link
don’t think either player is very good but wherever they go will eat into a timeshare.
My guess
pjcas18 : 9/19/2023 10:27 am : link
is Akers to IND and Hunt to CLE.

100%...no question especially since you already have Hockenson

Why would you want Kupp and Nacua?

I don't usually see people handcuff WRs. If you think both have value together that's one thing. It can make sense of circumstances dictate to have both Evans and Godwin or Brown and Smith (as examples), but I don't know I have seen someone handcuff WRs like you are suggesting.

Plus, you have no idea how they will be used together.
I’m 0-2 in my 10 team

After losing both Chubb and Dobbins. Just agreed on a trade involving sending Tyler Lockett for Breece Hall, with hopes that he sees a significant increase in workload.

I’ll also be very aggressive in targeting either Ford or Moss (who is still available in this one)

Definitely make that trade.

With Saquon out for this week and potentially longer...
RC in MD : 9/19/2023 12:10 pm : link
how much FAAB would you put for M.Brieda? I'm putting 45 (out of 100 with chance to reload 50 for $10) on J.Ford. So far, my RBs (N.Harris, Jav.Williams, AJ.Dillon) other than R.Stevenson have been underwhelming. I do have Z.Moss, but not sure if he's going to be a long term RB for Indy.

I also need WR help, so I may trade Moss (or any of my other RB not named Stevenson) for one if anyone is interested.

It's not a typical handcuff because Nacua has proven himself to be a top five WR when Kupp is out and we all know what Kupp is when he's in. So in my mind it's worth it to know for sure I'll have either one or the other on game day. As for Godwin, he's just the best of a trio of interchangeable receivers (Godwin, London, Dotson), making him expendable.

It's entirely possible that Kupp misses the whole season. A serious hamstring injury can do that to a season and this one was serious enough to keep him out for at least four games in the eyes of his coaches and trainers. But you're right that it's probably too soon to land him in a trade for Godwin.

That's my thinking. If someone has Kupp right now, they spent their 1st or 2nd round pick on him (depending on when they drafted). The guys you're talking about offering are WR3/FLEX level.

I don't think your valuation on Kupp is necessarily wrong, but it's asking a lot to get a fantasy football manager to view their players as sunk costs - moving off of a high draft pick early in the season is a tough ask when the offer feels like a lowball. The price on a Kupp trade probably doesn't come down unless/until Kupp does not return from IR week 5 (or if news breaks that he will stay on IR longer), IMO.
