The only shows I like anymore are Boomer and Gio and Dipietro and Rothenberg and unfortunately they’re up against each other. Everything else has gotten so bad. Even Michael Kay. The Kay show has gotten progressively worse the last few years. I don’t know what it is but it’s almost as if they try to only let the worst possible callers on the show. And Kay lost his fastball years ago.

to go AM only, when car makers are trying to get rid of AM radio in cars.

Rothenburg is terrible, Bart scott has to be one of the mroe annoying listens on radio, to bad Hahn cant get his own show, the Michael Kay show is terrible between Kay and Rosenberg...

The only 2 personalities that deserve their own is Hahn and Lagreca

Even his own fellow cohorts afford Scott the benefit of the doubt and apply a lot of weight and credence to his takes. The guy has no FUCKING CLUE about the NBA yet talks a lot of shit about the NBA. His football takes are laughable and at times completely wrong.

he has to defer to Scott at times and it's awkward. Hahn is fantastic. He brings an educated, objective and well informed viewpoint to nearly everything. Which means he likely won't last on ESPN. I fucking hate that network.

the guy who sucks is Evan Roberts. He became an even bigger asshole when teamed with Cartoon. They should have moved Tiki and Tierney as a team to drive time.

Screw ESPN, but their hosts were more listenable than FAN and actually talked way more Giants and NFL.

Kay and the crew were absolute garbage though.

but with the internet, I could easily listen to either NY sports stations. Obviously I have the interest in NY sports. Yet I choose to not listen to either, at all.

When I was a kid, I had an art teacher, who could be pretty nasty to some kids (I was good at art, so she wasn't too nasty to me). Her way of critiquing some kids artwork was to yell "GARBAAGE!"

That's what NY sports radio is to me. I'd rather listen to nothing. Silence is preferable to GARBAAGE!

Rothenberg is awesome. He's the voice of the Giants fan. I love that show. He is the Giants.

Rothenberg is great when he’s talking major sports especially the Giants and the stump part of the show is ok. But, I don’t care for the show when he tries to get cute or whatever the shtick is. Either way, I think he’s a lot better than the other shows especially the competition.

well I've read that the military still uses floppy disks with the nuclear arsenal, so maybe yeah it's impossible for the government to update their systems to modern times.

also I don't know that your reading to the WPA is accurate. It places a bunch of conditions on when it can be used and I don't know that it can be declared in perpetuity. It certainly wasn't written to regulate industries that want to dump old tech that fewer and fewer people are using.

If a billion people from china lets say decides to all get on planes and boats and invade what is the industrial base to defend the country along with a cheap common communication system to inform people what to do. I guess Tesla cars will defend?

why is AM radio that vital anymore. Sure there may have been a time, but if the sirens start blaring and the missiles are incoming, how many people do you think are going to run to their AM radio?

Very difficult to bring in on a car radio 60 miles outside NYC. While Kay and Rosenberg don't make for great radio, I'm hoping the AM signal will be more powerful.

Totally agree, I like both. I also like DiPietro. Was just thinking today if I could pair any two personalities from both networks, who would I choose? I think Alan Hahn and BT would be fantastic together.

I like guys who really stick to sports talk, some of these guys try being funny and go off on tangents which results in me turning the station off.

I could sit down and have a drink with BT, Hahn and La Greca. Tiki too. Should have stuck with Tiki and Tierney for the mid afternoon slot.
