NFT: Tree company needed in Bergen County

NoPeanutz : 9/19/2023 2:22 pm
Hi guys. I have a huge old dead-ish Oak tree in my backyard in Teaneck that needs to come down. No tree company wants to touch it. The angles, driveways, powerlines, etc are all too weird for them.
Most recently, Downes rescinded their quote.

But I need to get rid of this tree. Any recommendations?
Did you try A Cut Above in Demarest?

they are always quick with estimates and pretty honest about what they will and won't do.
Trees can be a major PIA

Any chance you can get your power company involved to at least clear the problem around the power lines?

Maybe that then makes it a bit more palatable for a tree company to do the rest?

Just a thought. Good luck.

Friends have used them a number of times, and have been very happy with the service. Not sure if they’d make the hike to Teaneck, but worth a call.

your experience when it comes to handling these types of SUPER difficult things is straining your thought processes...so listen this is extremely hard to follow.

1. Find a dealer that sells equipment for tree removal. They are out there.

2. Tell them your looking for an experienced tree guy who is a skilled climber...they are usually plentiful and always looking for side work. Pay what is necessary don't be an ahole and argue what's needed to do the job.

For a difficult job they usually will bring along more than 1 helper even if it's just to clear or move the material.

Ask if he is insured and if the answer is no inform him he'll have to sign a waiver and assume any and all liabilities, that's why you pay the price.

I live in Upstate NY, had 2 trees leaning in on a house I bought on the lake. No one wanted to remove either tree. They all said theres just 1 guy crazy enought to do it. Hes the equipment and does a good job...but he's expensive.

So I went with that guy and he did it right and it was expensive. These guys know who will do that job.
