I'll be rooting for Prime & CU, and watch out for a cover if you're a gambler.
Well, it's Michigan's first actual legitimate opponent this season.
I'll be rooting for Prime & CU, and watch out for a cover if you're a gambler.
And take the over. Seems inevitable
Whatever.
ND needs to beat OSU.
Meh....
Well, NJ Rutgers is off to a great start...

Verse is growing on me.
My biggest concern is built and how he seems constantly dinged.
FL St looks like pretenders also. Last week barely beat a lousy BC team, this week getting spanked by Clemson (so far at least). No way a top 5 team

continues to impress. This QB class is really, really deep.

That's fair, but he has had a lot of reps and looks to be getting better each year. Which is always a good sign for QB.
I'm not suggesting a lottery pick, but maybe a early day three investment. Let's see how the year plays out...

Something isn’t right with them and Clemson looks very good to start.

FSU D getting rolled.
Michigan’s schedule sucks
I don’t have any belief in them Making noise for playoffs
Clemson driving again.
Season saving play for FSU
Absolute stud
I guess holding the receiver is allowed
Jump ball city!

His biggest problem might be his defensive coordinator beating the shit out of him after the game for calling him out at halftime
In case you miss him, Toomy Rees is coordinating the Bama O on CBS... ;)
Is it a mirage? They actually did win both of their games. Oregon is just a better team.
This is like Georgia playing Mercer.
Now? < 500K.

Their big win was TCU, who is looking very weak as the season rolls on. I think right now Colorado is overrated.
Laughable? So you think they are truly a top 20 team in the country, where they are ranked now? THAT is laughable. They are a cute story but they damn sure aren’t a top 20 team

Overhyped maybe

Well yea being listed as a top 20 team is part of it. A team that won 0 (1?) games the last season, is in the 1st year of a program rebuild, and obviously has inferior talent to the top teams in the country. A lot of ppl on the hype train after 2 games where there was a lot of publicity...but I think it's unfair to say overrated for a team that's already outperformed expectations.
No doubt. I’m sure Prime is going to have top recruits tripping over themselves to play for him as we move along, but they aren’t close to being a top team yet. Their OL is atrocious and the defense is worse than that. People don’t realize how bad of a team Colorado State is and it took everything they had and then some to scrape by them, at home.
I'm taking ND because of Hartman. Just can't trust McCord...
Go Irish!
Hopefully logging back on in 4 plus hour & celebrating. #crossingfingers
They went into this game #19 in the country, no way they are a top 25 team. Yes, they are overrated.
Love that Big10 refs are officiating tonight. Screwed ND left & right.
Washington State winning by 14....
My alma mater Rutgers was up 7 - 0 early and then got whooped by a much deeper team in Michigan.
Last weekend UCLA hosted North Carolina Central. An HBCU.
Nope and it's going to hurt them.
ND should have at least 3 points, btw...
Check out Oregon St v Wash St...good game...
My guy Cam Ward lighting it up...

Yeah, I've got my YTTV 4 game view going on with UT/Bay; Wash St/OrSU; ND/OSU; WF/GT
Love that Big10 refs are officiating tonight. Screwed ND left & right.
You mean that overturn on the Harrison catch where he clearly had a foot down?
Might be the worst overturn I’ve ever seen.
Hartman tried to bounce it on a qb sneak . My lord haha
With the amount of running they are doing I don't understand why they haven't used it. Need to go deep more often.
Ohio State has too many athletes and they have a clear coaching advantage.

Yeah I didn't understand that rule where if the arm goes down first even if one foot touches before that it's incomplete? Wth
Cam Ward needs to be in the Heisman talk.
Yes...earlier for a first down.
I don't think so...

The crew for NBC said the Big Ten officiating team said Harrison juggled it...
It's very Lamar Jackson-ish with this throwing motion.
I like a lot of his attributes.

Didn't need that blitz...
Most overrated cosch in the nation. Just qb sneak you needed 2 inches
Most overrated cosch in the nation. Just qb sneak you needed 2 inches
Just about anything but that playcall.
4th and inch - let’s run wide lol
Screw the RPO, keeping pounding the ball inside...
He just made a dumbass play there. Just hand it off to the RB and get positive yardage. He has made so many good plays, and that was just stupid to keep it and lose 6 yards.

Yep, dumb play for a guy pushing 30
Makes no sense.
It was also a helluva play by Tuimoloau...
Stop them let's go D
He's breaking in a QB in Day's defense.
Balls? A run was the only call to be made there. It was the last play of the game so you have to run from the 1.
Golden is an idiot. Should have sent 5 on that 3rd and 19.

If you pass, you know you are throwing the ball into the endzone.
By running, the ball is handed off four yards behind the LOS.
That's a big difference to me. Thus, balls...
Al Golden better not be the DC next year.
Al Golden was gonna strike sooner or later. He’s a loser.

It is a 1 yard run against a prevent defense. You run.

Their final possessions of both halves were pure loser shit. Trust Sam Hartman to make plays, but also good decisions in those spots. WHAT THE FUCK is the point of having him otherwise??? Those are decisions you make when Tyler Buchner is playing QB.
Nah.
Dropped INT and an OSU false start, that would have been a 10 second run off but wasn’t b/c OSU has a timeout left.
Unreal
Actually the QB lost the game missing the screen pass. It was at least a 20 yard gain if he doesn't throw it into the only OSU defender within 10 yards. How do you not see the guy standing there?
Want to blame the DC for the 3 man rush on 3rd and 19, fine.
They tried the pass with 7 seconds left because they knew they had the run in their back pocket if the pass was incomplete, which it was.
So McCord failed twice to pass it in from the 1. The only logical play with 3 seconds left was a run
Inexcusable
I just went back and looked at it. Its true.
Simply inexcusable. Thats why there was no one on the left side of the alignment and the run was easy.
Green uniforms
4th down conversion
Rushing TD from the 1 on the final play

Unreal
Definitely agree on that. Someone on ND's coaching staff panicked when it was 2nd and 15. Make sure Ohio St has no timeouts and force McCord to win the game without stopping the clock
Is that confirmed?
Inexcusable
Insane.

That's a fire-able offense.
A LOT of freshmen on offense looked like players.
I truly hope the Irish win next week because this ten men on the field shit is gonna be a difficult stink to wash off.
Rough how much did u lose and how many legs did u have?
In his press conference, Williams said he noticed the missing defender on the last play but didn't want to take a penalty with no timeouts left.
But why not take a penalty? The ball is at the one. Run two players out there for illegal substitution or have a player jump offsides. The penalty is half the distance to the goal line, which is a half yard. BFD.
I have a feeling this is just smoke to cover for his staff...

Marcus Freeman leaves a lot to be desired.
He's in his 2nd year as a head coach, after some early hiccups last year the team played very well with a mac level quarterback the entire season.
He's doing a good job. The 10 men on the field sucks but one situation doesn't change that he is a good hire. If anyone can make this program into a title contender its him. Kelly left him with one of the worst QB situations of any power 5 program last year. He left him with awful receivers too.
Acting like they were disrespected and basically no one believed in them. THey were 3 point favorites and ranked #6 in the country. Fucking clown.
Urban Meyer was a world class scumbag but a great coach. Day is a world class douche bag but doesn't have the resume as a coach Meyer does.
He has every built in advantage at the school he's at and he goes out and acts that way on the field after the game? It's been a long time since I've seen a winning coach act that way after a game.
He's not a pimple on Lou Holtz ass.

Doesn't wash. Thirty-six seconds of real time elapsed between the end of the second down play and the snap for the third down play.
The entire OSU offense was in relaxed mode turned away from the line of scrimmage looking to the sidelines for the third down play call. An ND player would have had plenty of time to sprint into position without danger of OSU snapping the ball.
And OSU's winning play call that was signaled in was clearly designed to take advantage of the absence of the RDE.
ND coaches know they're missing a guy and not only don't send a guy in, but also don't attempt to signal one of the ND players standing off the line to move up to the line to fill the hole? They stay in the exact same formation?
And of course ND had eleven players on the field until they called a timeout after the spike. Then only ten returned to the field. It should be somebody's job on the sidelines to count the players going back out. That's not on the staff upstairs.
youtube - ( New Window )
I will disagree. ND played a great game until the last 30 seconds. They are a far better team then there last year. They lost to the #6 team on the last play of a tight game. They were pushing OSU's defense backward most of the 4th quarter. I think Freeman is building a sustainable program.
Coaches effed up the last few plays on both sides of the ball, yes. Hardman missed on the screen pass. What it comes down to is ND will be able to play anyone in the NCAA straight up and not be over matched.
Agree, that was really poor of Day going after Coach Holtz. I'd like to see this game continue but not sure how long it is scheduled for.
Onward to Durham. I might try to snag tixs to that game with a buddy.
The coaching however, some of the worst I’ve ever seen. The last 4 minutes it was who could screw up more. Sorry Irish fans but those first and second down play calls and only having 10 guys on the field was just a dagger. Throw I a. Soft zone on 3rd and 19.
My man, you were 3 point favorites. Stop acting like no one in the world gave the Buckeyes a shot to win. I hope Michigan destroys them Thanksgiving weekend.

It’s always precious when a coach from a top 5 team that gets any players he wants pulls out the ole underdog card. It’s embarrassing. At least wait until your sorry ass gets shit canned after this season and you end up at Northeastern. Or Temple. You’ll find out real quick how absurd your underdog rants actually were

I grabbed tix after the Clemson game. Notre Dame’s response next week will be very telling. Big game now, Gameday going to Durham for football for the first time ever. There will be a ton of ND fans there, there was in 2019.
ND is more talented, but huge variable is how ND responds off a tough loss. We will see.

In Day's defense, he was breaking in a brand new QB, who hasn't been overly impressive thus far, playing his first big game ever for the Buckeyes. And on the road against a premier program.
If anything, I imagine Day was relieved that McCord stepped up and made a few huge plays with so many question marks surrounding his ability.

That's true, McCord is super underwhelming. He won't be a good nfl qb
Both of the 4th down non conversions were his fault. He rushed a third down pass that killed another drive in Buckeyes territory. He looked like the moment was a little too big for him at times. That being said, I thought the play calling was way too conservative. There’s no point in having Sam Hartman, then calling the game like we still have Drew Pyne or Tyler Buchner.

Based on the cadence of the game, Hartman did his job. He rallied the team from being down 10-0.
ND lost because their D couldn't execute when it mattered most. The 3rd and 19 and only having ten men on the field the last two downs will go down in ND infamy.

Hartman had a wide open RB on the screen with three linemen in position and no OSU defenders downfield on that side and he managed to not get the ball past the only OSU guy there. So he can not be absolved. That play was setup perfectly.
But yes Golden flat out blew that defensive sequence. Horrible execution after a near flawless game.
Ugh. Gotta move get ready for Duke, which will be a tough game in its own right.
Pretty sure OSU had one timeout at this point.
Estime was running the ball down OSUs throats at that point.
On 1st down they lose 5 on that stupid mis-direction run 4-5 yards behind the LOS.
On 2nd down they stop the clock with an incomplete pass.
That was the first death.
The dropped INT was the second.
And then the final defensive stand, between the 10 men and the goal line alignment.
The only rooting interest I had in the game was under the total, which was well in hand, but that was tough to watch even just as someone who generally prefers ND to OSU.

They were down 10-0 because Hartman failed to convert two fourth down attempts in Buckeyes territory. He also threw a pair of bad passes (although pressure was clearly an issue on one of them) that stalled another drive in Buckeyes territory which led to the missed FG.
I’m not blaming him for the loss. I’m just stating the obvious, which is that he wasn’t great, especially in some some do or die moments. The first failed fourth down attempt was entirely his fault. He sees the marker. He has to sell out, but he didn’t.
The seminal moment of the game was obviously the 3rd & 19. Al Golden rushed three like the loser he is and a guy who was struggling when pressured had all day to find an open receiver in 8 man coverage.
Anyway, I’d be genuinely shocked if they lost to Duke.
Ryan Day vs Lou Holtz is very silly. But I think it was just an accumulation of a lot of outside chatter that continues to take shots at this team that is 49-6 under Day and in the playoffs 3 times with a national title appearance. Some people (including some Buckeyes fans) act like this team isa 7 or 8 win team every year. So I can understand some pent up frustration coming out. Buckeye fans loved it. Opposing fans thought it's obnoxious. I get it. That said, he needs to fix up his decision making really quickly. Completely botched the clock management on the last ND drive, the short yardage playcalling is a nightmare, and the fixation with proving how physical we are instead of just letting it fly to the best receiving group in the country will cost us if it doesn't get fixed.
Go Bucks

I said this the other day, but I gave Tuimoloau a lot of credit for breaking up that screen. I thought that was a helluva a play by that kid. He was a five-star recruit who was considered one of the top 5-10 players in the country coming out of high school. Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the other side just making the better play...
On that last drive, OSU also executed a 4th and 7 before the 3rd and 19.
I understand criticizing specific plays by Hartman, btw. But considering how well ND ran the ball, I was perplexed why Parker didn't dial up more play-action. I think that would have created a few more needed splash plays...
