I'm a little late, but I didn't want to post following the game last night. Tonight we're playing bridge with friends and making dinner. We switch houses about every month and she's a great cook, and also great at presentation, which is not in my repertoire. Mrs. in UT decided she'd like Steak Diane, whcih we haven't had in ages, so I went French. For apps we're having toasted ciabatta with a good smear of European butter and a couple of anchovies. Also, brie, baked right in it's wood box, with caramelized onions and honey on top. Dinner is the Steak Diane, made with pounded shrip steak, Duchesse potatoes (whipped with butter and cream, then made into mounds with a pastry bag and star tip and browned in the oven) and simple pan-fried fennel. Dessert is a Geoffrey Zakarian recipe for crepes stuffed wih a ricotta/lemon filling, with powdered sugar, honey and chocolate syrup on top. Serving a Boulevardier cocktail- bourbon, sweet vermouth and Campari.
Tomorrow my nephew is coming for dinner, so I'm making him ribs with a gochujang glaze and cole slaw.
Sunday is Kol Nidre, and Mrs. in UT is making her usual chicken soup, roasted chicken and chocolate mousse.
What are you all up to?
Tomorrow is Coulotte steak. Never made it so probably just a quick sear in the cast iron.
Sunday I’m smoking chicken. Maybe some baked mashed potatoes with it. Haven’t smoked meat in a while. Psyched for it.
Marrying poorly, apparently :)

I've just made coulotte once. Iirc, you have to slice the steaks right and form them into a U shape and pin them. Lots of people really love that cut, tho.
Greek is always good. We eat a lot of eggplant, and moussaka is a great way to go with it. Just too much left over with the 2 of us, so I don't do it very often. Too bad about the weather.
Enjoy it. I'm pretty sure some said that they were making that last week.
Today is sausage and pepper heroes. 6 links, 1 onion, 3 peppers and 3 lightly toasted rolls coming together to make 3 delicious sandwiches. And they were
Sunday dinner is chili. I keep it simple. Ground turkey, roasted then pureed tomatoes, onions and garlic (half roasted half chopped) beans, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Served over rice with biscuits on the side
Sounds good, just don't turn it into Rubber Sole, which I'm not listening to lately, lol
