NFT: Why did USPS destroy my package?

JALAPEN0 : 9/26/2023 9:34 pm
I got a notice today in the mail saying my package was undeliverable and was returned to the post office and "destroyed".

I love how they delivered me a notice saying "hey, we can't deliver that thing but we can deliver this and this says that the other thing has been fucking DESTROYED" and I don't know how to react.

Obviously I found this notice amusing. I want to work in that department now.

The only package I have ever been expecting at this address in the last six+ months was this one and it was under 5 pounds and could fit in one hand so I immediately thought the old woman next door stole my shit again.

It was a TEMU item so it probably cost them more to destroy the package than it cost me for shipping it so the joke is on them I suppose but I still paid $3.99 and shipping for an item that cost .24 cents to make including labor most likely so I dunno, what does the post office do with "destroyed packages"?

Can I re-buy my $3.99 cat window perch from a local federal auction in 6 months for $15.99 or is all hope lost?

Are you sure it wasn't HDS

door from the FBI or DHS sometime in the next week. Obviously you imported some dangerous implement of war.....

Sleep well.

have broken the code of your poetry and discovered your nefarious intentions for the “cat window perch”.
Are you sure the letter didn't come from the old lady next door
GiantBlue : 9/27/2023 9:14 am : link
I hear she has a team of nefarious letter writers to cover-up her specialize crime ring she is running on your street.

Sure, blame the post office. No one will question them!

She is a genius....and is she really old?????
Have you been to your local post office recently?

I have, and to be kind, let's just say it's not exactly the brightest or the best that work at post office's these days.

behind the whole thing
USPS really is not in a good place these days...
whozzat : 9/27/2023 12:00 pm : link
Earlier this year, I paid $6 and change to send a document by certified mail from NJ to Connecticut. It took them 16 days to get it there (I could have walked in that time). Then, when the low-functioning recipient failed to go and claim it from the post office (he hadn't been at his business during business hours the three times they tried to deliver it)... USPS then "returned" it, which consisted of making it vanish into thin air. I finally got it back three months later, but they're still sending me letters saying that they can't locate it.
it's a writeoff to them
mort christenson : 9/27/2023 12:56 pm : link
They just write it off.

ChrisRick : 9/27/2023 1:12 pm : link
You don't even know what a write-off is.

Do you?

No, I don't.

But they do. And they're the ones writing it off.

Stop writing UXB on the package.
