Giant fans have had to endure another tortuous season and the only saving grace is the potential of the future.
If the Giants win a couple of meaningless games and miss out on a potential franchise QB, then we will be back on the same hamster wheel of failure.
It took LT to get the Giants out of the Malaise of the 1970s.
The Giants need a player who can have that type of impact.
It would be malfeasance if the Giants win another game. They should sit their best players so that they do not get injured. Barkley, Thomas, Lawrence, etc.
The Giants should play hard but not win another game. They control their fate and there is no reason to justify winning.
Draft analysts believe that both Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are great QB prospects. Perhaps the Giants like another QB, at least they will have the choice.
This is no longer about this year it is about the future.
And for those who still believe in Daniel Jones.
Let him compete and if he can revive his career then the Giants can trade him for assets.

are they going to win another game this year? They’re going 2-15.
Taylor comes back and we can win more than a few games.
Not if they're scoring 11.5 PPG
I would rotate in the younger guys and get them playing time. Obviously continue to play DeVito through the season. Make sure the guys who are going to be here get reps to improve.
Football Draft Gods - please help us.
While they are excellent prospects, they aren't any better than Jayden Daniels who has killed it this year.
Daniels is no longer a consolation prize. He's THE prize.
In terms of style:
Daniels = Lamar Jackson
Williams = Mahomes
Maye = Justin Herbert
McCarthy = Kirk Cousins
Penix = Joe Namath (for you old timers out there)
Nix = Joe Burrow (if you squint your eyes enough)
Which one would you want?

The running ability is fantastic, and he knows how and when to get out of bounds.

Nice little breakdown. With our O-Line? Give me the guy that can run for his life but also... Sling the pill. My mind will change 100 more times before April but Daniels seems like the fit here.

I'm not a big college football guy... but damn that guy at LSU is good.
He’s amazing but slight frame might knock him down.

Maye is more Burrow than Herbert. I'm very fond of Maye, but he does not have Herbert's throwing talent. Herbert's from another planet with his ability to throw a football.
I would not recommend taking Harrison and then trading up to get a QB. I would only do that if they actually think that McCarthy or Daniels are as good or better than Maye or Williams.
Just get Maye or Williams and then figure the rest out. Having Harrison sprinting down the field will mean nothing if the QB can’t get him the ball.
of Big Ben comparisons. The less rapey kinds. He's an inch shorter and 10 pounds lighter but he's got a lot of room to grow in that frame.
Yep, and likely the best cold weather QB of the bunch IMO.
There are different flavors for each taste.
My preference at this juncture is;
Caleb, Drake, McCarthy, Nix, Daniels, Penix Jr, Ewers, Sanders,....
This can change as the season progresses. The three QBs to watch are McCarthy, Daniels, and Ewers.
Yes sir
I expect if they pick a QB it will be Maye. I'm hoping that happens.

Agreed. Herbert's arm is generational.
McCarthy mobility is a massive strength of his. He’s kind of like Aaron Rodgers but obviously not as good lol
Maye has a very good arm. No complaints from me about his ability to make a throw. It's a very clean, economical stroke, which is why I see Burrow, V2.
But Williams is a magician throwing the ball. I see a lot of Aaron Rodgers in his throwing. His off-script throws are simply genius stuff.
You should check out Daniels. He has the most tools of any QB in the 2024 class. He has amazing acceleration and burst when he runs. He looks like an elite level WR.
Is this a veiled Giants are racist post or am I digging too deep?
Maye being 6’5 225 is more like the NY QB mold.
Daniels is more of a project which Giants have never liked.

Racist? Not sure that's the path to go, but if Mara is involved in the selection, I think he's got a prototype.
Big guys who are humble, quiet and cliche machines. And a lot of them have been from the south - Simms, Brown, Kannel, Eli, Jones.
Maye fits that mold.
I’m sure my thoughts will change before the draft, but I am still sold on Maye being a perfect fit for this team. I’ve seen him make some super impressive throwS, he can sling the ball in a rope down the field. Hits his receivers in the hands. Can scramble and make things happen with his legs, but what I like most is that he doesn’t really lean on it, when he scrambles his eyes are always down the field and he often finds a guy open instead of taking off trying to run for yardage. He sort of seems like a hybrid between Herbert and Allen, he has a quick release and I like the way he operates inside and outside the pocket, his eyes are always reading the D.
Daniel’s is electric. He has become my second choice, excellent quick at making his reads and truly does have a Lamar Jackson dynamic to his running where if he gets to the open field he is a home run threat. He does look a little slim, but he is still young and I don’t see any reason why given a year in an nfl program he can’t add on some bulk to help withstand more punishment. He might end up being the best QB in this class, really exciting kid to watch.
Williams I’d take 3rd. Solely because I worry about his personality and fit here in NY (USC in particular has a terrible track record in NY). I also have not been enamored with him in the games I’ve watched so far. Seems to hold the ball too long waiting for the play to develop. While he does make some spectacular throws that truly wow you, I think he also leaves a lot on the table and needs to clean up a lot of technical things in his game.
After seeing this shit show.

Here you are sounding like John Schmeelk’s “Don’t draft the helmet”
strategy . He soiled himself with that rationale favoring Young over Stroud . Not pro Tide . Anti Buckeye .
Williams doesn’t inherit Trojan disease from Sanchez . Personally I think Caleb is the choice were he available . But that’s just me .

How is Daniels a project? He has a great throwing motion, quick release, and accurate. He seems to read the defenses well.
I just don't see a project at all. He is way more refined as a passer than Lamar was coming out of college and has the same electricity running the ball.

Daniels is like Lamar as far as his running ability, but he is light years ahead of where Lamar was as a passer and probably is even now. Way more accurate. Much better motion.
The question is has Daboll run the ball so much with DJ because that is what makes him most effective or does he really want a QB who can run for his offense. If it is the latter, Daniels seems to be the guy.

I don't watch a ton of football but agree with what you have ....but two questions.
Why is Penix Joe N?
And I have seen Nix - he's nothing like Burrows IMO.
I think it could easily be spun as Tyrod's contract being up at the end of the year and wanting to get a good look at Devito as a potential backup while Jones is out.
I am impressed with boldness of that opinion
I know you really know college players so it certainly effects my opinion of him
He doesn't have to run wild. Nor would that be the expectation.
But Daniels is a legit dual threat QB who has the mobility to beat you outside the pocket with his arm and legs.

"With the second pick in the draft the Carolina Panthers take Bryce Young." Yep, picking early clearly gets you a franchise QB.

Again, Daniels with the frame he has is not going to be able to run wild in the NFL. He will get killed.

At a minimum, if the defense is playing with their backs to the QB, Daniels is a threat to tear off a low-risk 20 yard gain. He can really run and juke when required.
It will be a good year to be drafting high.
All of them are plus athletes, with plus elusiveness(key when the LT is out) and plus arms. Play well against tough competition. Lots to like with all.
I'm more of a fan of Maye or even Penix.
