NGT: Gary Myers thinks Belichick to the Chargers

bigblue12 : 11/15/2023 10:16 pm
Next year. That would be something. I’d like to see him there.

Makes all the sense in the world

Quality QB, underperforming team that needs a strong leader to get them over the top.

BB is going to want to win early, get his win total and maybe another Super Bowl...he is not looking to do a 3 year rebuild.
I can't think of a less "L.A." guy than Little Bill.

He'll probably thrive there anyway.

The Chargers barely have a fan base in Los Angeles and alienated their San Diego fans. They need a "sexy move." He'd be it.

Last I looked the most popular team in Los Angeles was still the Raiders, not the Rams, but maybe that's changed since the Rams won their Lombardi.
Spanos didn't want to pay Payton...

why would he pay Belichick even more?
If this happens I bet McDaniel comes in as OC

Brady/Herbert
I would think he would succeed there

It's just odd to think Belichick breaks the all-time most wins for an NFL coach with the....Chargers?
He would have…

some great places to park his boat.
I thought skins were trading for BB?
ZogZerg : 11/16/2023 8:53 am : link
Didn't he just sign an extension?
It could cost a team to land him.
Ownership

Is incredibly cheap for the Chargers? Are they willing to pay Bill and the staff he’s bringing? They definitely should, it would be a perfect move…not sure he will ante up though.
LAC makes a lot of sense for BB.

He seems to be happy on the east coast, so maybe he’d prefer Buffalo if they decide to make a change (which, barring a postseason run, I think they will).
Just happy if he isn't in the NFC East
gersh : 11/16/2023 9:35 am : link
I don't know what he has left on his fast ball, but wouldn't feel right with him in Washington or, even worse, Dallas.

Every time I see a clip of Parcells with Dallas (or the Jets) I am reminded of those travesties. The part of my brain that protects me from trauma allows me to constantly forget.
....
gersh : 11/16/2023 9:37 am : link
maybe the correct term is cognitive dissonance
I will always love Parcells for what he did for the Giants despite his transgressions

Same for little Bill
Nobody is going
section125 : 11/16/2023 9:40 am : link
to trade for BB. So Kraft is going to have to fire him for him to go anywhere.

(I guess I should never say nobody will trade for him...)

I want this to happen because I wanna see Bill sail his boat thru the Panama Canal.

Even better - he'll sail around Cape Horn. He loves a challenge.

My gut says no

Ben Johnson will be the hot candidate and the ability to pick and chose where he goes. I have to imagine the opening that features Justin Herbert as the starting QB will be the most attractive to prospective coaches. Ownership has also been patient with Staley despite some bonehead moves, so this will be a sought after job.

I think Bill takes less for the right spot. He knows his legacy has taken a bit of a hit (foolishly imo) and would do exactly what Brady did.
