I hear ya, but one positive has been Gunner Olszewski who's averaging nearly 10 yards per punt return. That's something that hasn't happened in quite awhile!

#NYGiants TMac - york is working thru some technical stuff...will decide after fri practice who will kick vs wash.
#NYGiants TMac - getting better on kickoff retuns....close to breaking one....campbell done well with strength and speed on the returns
#NYGiants TMac - each team has their own philosophical approach if they want to kick touchbacks or lay up shorter kickoffs
#NYGiants TMac - wash has a lefty power punter plus the heavy winds in week 7 caused trouble on the returns
#NYGiants TMac - gillan been getting the punts off quicker with the technique and scheme team is using

#Giants DC Wink Martindale literally shivered when asked about giving up 640 yards last week

#NYGiants Wink - the 600+ yds to dallas was very tough....you feel good about a call and then the ball is snapped and you say "oh no"....but you can see the guys all fought and not giving up

#NYGiants Wink - must stay consistent in how you approach the players....there is always a challenge with the next game...and wash offense has improved all around since wk 7

#NYGiants Wink - you have to adjust when the starters are out with injury...sometimes you are in a zone but the ball goes deep and it looks like it was man when you have to adjust to the deep throw

#NYGiants Wink - talks with daboll all the time....on tv, they saw us talking about how a big play happened and then about which personnel was still left after the injuries
#NYGiants Wink - when you have a game like that in dallas, nobody played well...give cowboys a lot of credit

#NYGiants Wink - unless told to play others, he will always play the best players and try to win every time
@giantswfan
#NYGiants Wink - still sees great leadership in the room..leadership of the def. line filers thru the room
@giantswfan
#NYGiants Kafka - devito shows growth each day...he is learning with his footwork, command, progressions
#NYGiants Kafka - training staff been taking care of banged up guys during the week so they can be ready for the game
#NYGiants Kafka -team tries to limit terminology so offense can play fast...also makes it easier for young QBs
#NYGiants Kafka - good if team has same starting OL two weeks in a row
@JordanRaanan
Wink Martindale said the conversation he had with Brian Daboll going off the field at halftime vs. Cowboys was going over coverages.
Daboll then came over as they came back on the field after talking with trainers and was telling Martindale which CBs would and wouldn’t be available.
“There was nothing to it,” Martindale said.
The Giants DC also said they tried to run more zone coverages in the second half with their secondary shorthanded. But it was like one of those days when your fastball, changeup and curveball all aren’t working.

#NYGiants Daboll - okereke returns to practice today...thibs and hyatt moving ahead in protocol....DJackson cleared...AJackson still behind the others
#NYGiants Daboll - not concerned about barkley's workload.....you are trying to win a game
@PLeonardNYDN
Brian Daboll says Bobby Okereke will practice today, and Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jalin Hyatt have progressed to the next step in the concussion protocol #Giants
Will see what the statuses are. Daboll calls Okereke’s Wednesday absence a rest day, but obviously he was listed on the injury report with a hip.
Martindale said Micah McFadden would be the Mike in the event Okereke was not on the field, and the DC also said Darrian Beavers has looked good in practice lately and could be a depth option depending on what they decide to do

The team using Campbell now is bewildering too. Why wasn't being used there in camp and preseason frequently? I feel bad for Gray because it's been bad coaching.
@JordanRaanan
Giants RB Saquon Barkley was asked if being a good soldier and handling a huge workload would be viewed as a benefit when it came to getting a new contract, whether it be in NY or elsewhere, because of his loyalty to the organization.
Barkley: "Loyalty means nothing. Loyalty, that don’t mean nothing. No matter how loyal, no matter how committed you are, it’s a business at the end of the day. That is something that I have learned.
"For me, the way I try to handle that, I try not to focus on that. I try my best not to think about it."

Is this shocking? It shouldn't be. Negotiations are tough. He and his agent effed up in reading the market. Schoen moved on.
Barkley has a way of pulling himself for a blow often in the game. Sometimes, it seems, at strange times.
It is a business and it works both ways.

Bobby Okereke said yesterday's DNP designation came because of some maintenance on his hip: "I mean obviously a long, long season so just some wear and tear, some inflammation that I’m trying to get to calm down so I can feel fresh, 100% on game day."
Says more precautionary

Xavier McKinney spoke to reporters for the first time since DC Wink Martindale said he was hurt by some of the #Giants safety’s previous comments.
McKinney put the last week aside, answering questions with a refrain of “We’re all just trying to win games.”
We need to move on from him BUT, at some point we run out of people to move on from.. Yet, we still will have a lot of cap being eaten up.
