NFT: Mainers bet over $12 mil in first two weeks of legal betting

JALAPEN0 : 11/16/2023 12:39 pm
on sports.

In a state with just over 2 million.

Two weeks.

Since Nov. 3, DraftKings has brought in $10,693,221.82 in wagers and paid out $8,559,980.38 in winnings.

The state reports that DraftKings has brought in $207,311.30 in tax revenue.

Under the state law that went into effect in May 2022, Maine’s four tribes have exclusive rights to online sports betting.

The Maliseet, Mi’kmaq and Penobscot tribes have a deal with Caesars Sportsbook, and DraftKings has an agreement with the Passamaquoddy Tribe.

Read somewhere where the tribes are saying this still won't make any difference.
If 1 million per week extra isn't enough than I dunno.

But hey, it is almost 60 degrees here in Maine. God speed.

I don't trust online gambling

primarily the FF betting or weekly FF games you can play. I feel like it's rigged by bots or agents that flood things with all sorts of possible bets to better the odds for the house. Hedging. I know it's deep rabbit hole bullshit but the whole thing looks really fishy to me. I played once and actually did well and still got my ass kicked. It was a free bet so I didn't care but it was weird that I actually picked a number of under radar cheaper options that actually posted good stats and I still got crushed. Fishy but what do I know. I feel like I win whenever I don't gamble against the house.
sorry my post has nothing to do with the OP

just figured we can discuss the industry in general.
Even for a state of 2 mill,

$12M over 2 weeks doesn’t sound like a lot. I wonder what their lotteries take in every week?

born in Jersey, my experience was a culture shock for the better. Maine will always have a sweet spot in my heart, would love to vacation there if opportunity allows.
