Redskin community-management, players, media and fans- think they have their QB for the next 10 years. Guy was drafted in round 5, pick #144, and leads the league in yards. When you can get a guy this good with that pic you’ll be able to build around him and put together a team that will a pain in the ass for years.
Sam Howell - (
New Window )
He was replaced the next year.
For a guy with the most pass attempts, it's awfully low. Plus be has a great supporting cast.
Hopefully they think he is. And then hopefully they pay him a lot of money.
I would absolutely not be ecstatic if we drafted someone who played like Sam fucking Howell
The Commanders beat them last year with bums at QB.

A great supporting cast? Come on, the Commanders stink. That they’re better than the Giants doesn’t change that. McLaurin is very good, other than that, who do they have? Howell is in his 2nd year, and already has more TD passes than Jones has had since his rookie year.
The question of course is whether you can win a SB with Howell. I still have my doubts, but given his improvement this year, I wouldn't say it's impossible.
The "plus" version of Howell in the draft is Spencer Rattler.
UNC under Mack Brown is where young QBs go to regress. Trubisky, Howell and Maye have all gone sideways in that program.
Well, this post hasn't aged well...

He nearly beat the Eagles and has led the team to numerous 4th quarter comebacks. He’s essentially a rookie. If the person we draft next year has a season as good as his, we’d be ecstatic.

I think perceptions of his future are really affected by how his junior year was disappointing.

Mitch Trubisky never played for Mack Brown

Ok … I’ll amend the comment. UNC is where young, promising QBs go to regress. Better ? And yes, I am a biased NC State FB / Duke BB fan and I don’t like anything in Chapel Hill. 😎
