and there’s plenty others who have excelled picked much later, Lamar Jackson, etc. You have to scout and do research well and have the conviction that you’re picking the right guy. Maye and Williams both have great attributes, but a guy like Daniels also looks like a tremendous QB. Never can tell. We selected Barkley instead of Darnold in that draft and how’d that work out for the Jets who picked him at #3. Let the season play out first and then we can talk draft and who’s available. In the mean time, enjoy the win and that your team played with a desire today. They could have just given up. Will they win another game this year? Who knows, but let it play out and enjoy this win for once in a while.
We should have beat Bills & Jets. So, Giants should be at at least 5 wins. The draft is the draft. If they fall out of position to get the guy they want, there are plenty of other holes to fill.
Keep in mind, if they get anything other than 1st 2 picks, any team could trade up and grab their guy.
I am so sick of reading this stuff.
A. The Giants should nto be a 5 win team. They should NOT have beat the Jets or the Bills. They are better teams than the Gaints.
B. This is a rare opportunity to get out from Daniel Jone and that horrible contract of which wh'll be stuck with permanaent medicrity. An undrafted free agent just threw for over 250 yards and 3 TDs vs the Washington Commanders like Daniel jones usually does. If that was Daniel jones there would be posters here anoointing this guy a top QB in the NFL.
They absolutely should have beat the Jets. They almost did with a 3rd string rookie QB.
The Giants aren’t picking a QB in the draft considering the state of their O line.
The Gaints are not picking one because Mara loves Daniel jones like a son -- despite not being a good QB.
!
omg show me a shred of proof this is true. People are delusional

Hope for loses so I’ve been conflicted. I want one of the top QB’s but a win always feels good. Even we can’t land one of the top 3 guys though I don’t see any of the other ones worth a top 10 pick.

You hope for a win, but are not disappointed if they lose unless it is on some glaringly bonehead call.
Glad she got to see a win after making the effort to go to the game! At home on TV, it sounded like at least half a Giants crowd in the stands. CN BBIers who went to the game weigh in on the crowd?
She's not back yet, but she was pretty stoked. (She went with her Commanders boy friend... so you can tell she was extra motivated too).
Ha! Better yet. At least he’s not a Cowboys or Eagles fan.
Great win. Too early to worry about draft pick position and it’s not like either Caleb or Drake have looked like world beaters. Daboll and team needed a W.
The Bears won’t take a QB. Giants will get one of the 3
Still so long to go, but Bears and Cardinals could stick with their guys. I definitely think the Cardinals do.
Schoen will have to maneuver the draft as needed. That's just the reality of the NFL. I don't care how shitty any team is, you can't go 2-15 on demand.
-Chiefs moved up for Mahomes
-Bills moved up for Allen
It'll be on Schoen to figure it out. But, I think the Jones train left the station if there was any doubt. The 3 passing TD's in a game stat is just unbelievable.

Even if the Bears keep Fields, they will get some nice offers for that #1 pick and that will be a team going for a QB. Will the Cards go for Harrison Jr if they sick with Murray? Or will they also trade back? As you said, a long way to go
Let's see if Devito can lead this team to a road playoff win.
Well, in only 2 games he’s got 1/3 of the passing TDs your boy Jones had last season so I’m guessing beating a historically bad defense like the Vikings isn’t impossible.
You literally hate everything. It is so freaking odd that you constantly defend a bad QB that has been heavily involved in one of the darkest periods of Giants football in its history. But again, nobody has ever accused you of being very bright

RE: RE: RE: Let's see if Devito can lead this team to a road playoff win.
Sure, but Jones gets most of it. He was the best player on the field that day.
Devito has Barkley. Let's see if he can do it.
This is why nobody takes you Jones fan boys seriously. Jones gets all the credit for the wins, as incredibly rare as they’ve been through this career, but when they lose it’s everyone else’s fault. Congratulations to Jones for playing a decent game against a laughable defense. Then got his fucking teeth kicked in the very next week. Once again in embarrassing fashion

I'm more then ready to move on from Jones. Again, with the anger and not being very bright. Now, the road playoff win means nothing, despite the fact that you and others weren't saying that in the offseason and the fact that it's only time this team has looked good in a decade.

It is amazing that one win against a terrible defense completely wipes away 5 years of mostly complete ineptitude in your mind. It’s almost as if you’re trolling. There’s nothing you don’t bitch about. But you draw the line at….Daniel Jones? Holy shit balls….
10 years from now are you stil going to be
taking every chance you get to denigrate Daniel Jones. The Giants won, Jones is out for the year, give it a rest, please!

taking every chance you get to denigrate Daniel Jones. The Giants won, Jones is out for the year, give it a rest, please!
You don’t have to read.
The narrative spun on here by the Jones supporters is “why draft a QB, nobody could perform behind this line”. Meanwhile an undrafted rookie did it while getting sacked 9 times.
but the Commanders looked like the team that was tanking. We got embaressed twice by Dallas come in not even limping but dragging broken legs and gave them a beating without playing the best game we could.
Everyone of their supporters were looking to pounce on us and get them back on track. Feels good to shut them up.
Glad Devito got to get 1, I would like to know how the game plan went because we looked so lost on so many plays and then then so well designed on others. was it a mix of old and new? Was it Devito specific scheme that was working or failing?
Deffensively there was an obvious messqge to punch the ball. Was that a rectuon to how Washington plays or was it brought up that if the Offense cant score the D needs to force things. Would love the D to be that ball crazy all the time!

How many games did Jones play behind this line, Thomas and Pugh with Barkley on the field. Be more accurate in your observations
… I will be willing the Giants win next week and every other of this season in order to piss off other Giants fans.
?????
I’d rather win out than lose out. What the hell does a high draft pick guarantee you anyway? Haven’t we seen enough 1st round busts to show that it really doesn’t mean much where you draft. You can find impact players all throughout the draft if your scouting is good or if you get lucky.
Also, how exactly do you expect the New York Giants to “tank?”
How do you expect the organization to intentionally lose? What is that method? What free agent will want to come here if he knows that a poor season will result in his benching so the team can lose? Do you expect John Mara to reach an agreement with Daboll that they lose out? Do you expect players to play under their ability for the greater good of the team?
Even if they lose out and draft high. What if the high draft selections are a bust? Do you go on and on tanking? Tanking is a ridiculous idea that only serves to disillusion your fan base, the current players on the roster and any future players who might consider coming here via free agency.
Winning is everything. You keep trying to win come what may and draft where ever you draft.
Let’s win next week and keep winning. 6 more games to go.
With Thomas and Barkley DeVito still got sacked NINE times. Yet was still able to throw for 3 TDs. Somehow he wasn’t Derek Carr’d
He has a third of the passing TDs Jones had all of last in two starts with the same line.
Is that clearer for you?
And the beat goes on!
Sorry all the excuse you guys have made have blown up this year. Tough day for you guys.
No you fool, the Giants won today and it's never a tough day when they win. It may be for some who have ridiculous agendas, but I care about the team winning. You are right I don't have to read and I didn't want to look at the posters before I read the posts, but to avoid you and you're ridiculous one trick pony campaign to bring Daniel Jones into every discussion I will now do that!

The Washington Commanders are currently dead last in the NFL in points allowed per game this season. They somehow trail a team that allowed 70 points earlier this season. Devito’s previous TD passes came with the team trailing by an average of 31 points.
Interestingly, the fewest points the Commanders allowed this season was to Tyrod Taylor and the Giants.
It’s over for Jones. It didn’t work out and we basically have one year left with him on the team. Shit happens.
They’re about 20 teams right now in the NFL who are stuck in limbo with QBs who will never be perennial winners. Unfortunately we are one of them. But this obsession on every thread saying the same thing is just weird whether you’re a Jones fan or not.

I am with this. Half or more of DeVito's sacks were on him pulling his "inner Jones" and holding the ball too long or running into it.
But I will give DeVito credit. He truly is improving week by week. While still many times holding the ball too long, he is also most times getting it out accurately and with pace to the open guy. I think he sees the field much better than Jones and will trust what he sees more each week, hence the ball will come out quicker meaning fewer sacks.
