to trading up. We'd have to mortgage several drafts, but a team in the top three (assuming that's where the QBs are projected to go) may not want to trade regardless of what we offer.
First, there are a lot more games so no one is picking anywhere yet. Second, we will get a chance to draft a very good player or accumulate more assets. We need a WR and the draft has several very good ones. Our OL stinks and this draft has some good Tackles. We badly need another pass rusher.
Relax and enjoy the wins that don’t come around very often these days….
I think we might pick lower than 5th. 3 of the teams on our schedule
I would look to move up for Maye (Williams likely gone). If that means sacrificing next year’s #1 (2025), so be it. I have always said it’s a 3 player draft and I expect the NYG to, naturally, finish somewhere from 5-8.
Agreed. Giants have ammunition. Two number 2 picks and their 2025 first rounder to give. Still lots of season left to play. As long as they finish in the Top 2, they'll be good. It's looks like the Giants have their preference though in Maye based on how many scouts they sent to see yesterday's Clemson-UNC game.
but watching the oline looking like shit I might trade back, pick up some picks. Then perhaps take a chance on Nix, Penix, or someone that gets it out quickly and can read.
Qb to trade 3 first rounders for. Or worse. It might be even more.
Right now there about 12 teams in need of a Qb. Trading up for either Williams or Maye is stupid. The NFL needs to un-fuck itself and stop over drafting QBs. Along w over paying them
Except Lt and NT. If you can't get your QB get the best player that isn't a rb. Giants lost the Chase Young Bowl but won't the pick. Same here pick wisely. Eric has been preaching QBs taken at the top of the haven't been panning out.
Choose wisely
I wanted to tank until the kickoff. Once the kick is in the air I m
All in on winning. Can't stand losing. At the end of the game I was so afraid we were going to and cheered for the pick. I m convinced I tell myself I want to rank to prevent disappointment. But once the game starts my fandom overtakes it. I think that's the way most BBIers are.
And take a chance of ending up like Carolina when you have lots of holes to fill? No thanks.
Rather gamble on a franchise QB then never be able to land one in a draft or get someone in FA. Better than the Jets mode of building a killer team only to never make the playoffs year after year, generation after generation because they don’t have a QB. It’s the most important position. If this was 2004 and hypothetically the Giants were not in top of draft, would you be pounding the table for them to stay put and not take one of Eli, Rothlisberger or Rivers?
this bottom of the barrell franchise go another decade with one fluke playoff berth where they get embarrassed by a real team.
So- your presumably and adult (maybe), on a Giants fan site messaging board, throwing shade at anybody who is happy to see success for the team whos name is on the front page.
And now after reading my comment your probably going to pretend your taking a utilitarian argument that tanking is better right?
I don't think they'll win enough of the remaining games to fall out of the top 10. If they want to draft a QB they'll be able to. I think they'll be able to pull off an Eli type trade. Something like swapping 1st picks this year and the Giants paying one of their 2024 2nd round picks and their 1st pick in 2025. It's a big gamble but it paid off big in 2004.
Message from me to the NYG front office. If you miss out on the very top QBs and don't think any of the QBs left are worth the asking price, please use your 1st pick on the front 7 on defense. If you can get a 3rd passer rusher to go with Dex and Thibs I think it will make a big difference on passing downs. I think you need to spend 50% or more of your draft capital on the defensive front 7.
Before anyone says OL. I think NYG has some young talented OLs that could develop further and Andrew Thomas who hopefully makes it through the rest of this year healthy. I know they need better OLs. I think they need FA vet OLs and a new OL coach to make the OL better, not rookies.
draft position come late December. Let's face it, the team losing out would have meant Mara rolled Snake Eyes again. We need to see something from the guys they have drafted.
camp at this point. of all the quarterbacks, I think he checks most of the boxes. It’s only his frame that scares people. The funny thing is that I wonder if Jaden Daniels stock would be even higher iif LSU, had a defense and the team was undefeated. I just hope he’s not picked in the top three at this point, if the Giants are at #5.

Daniels is impressive. Good post. He needs to bulk up. Some time in an NFL S & C Program will do him wonders.
Until the season ends to figure out what to do in the 5 position.
A lot depends on who has 1-4.
NE is definitely going QB and there could be several teams @3-5 wins in the top 10 that need QB and someone will make the ALL IN move.
Fortunately we have the extra 2nd if Schoen has to/ wants to make a bold move, unless he decides to heavily scout Daniels, Penix, Nix, if Caleb and Drake will likely be gone.
There are several (5+)teams in the QB market. What may be interesting is if some eligible QBs stay in school, reducing the supply.
If the draft is this Tuesday, I’m moving up for Maye. If the price is unreasonable, I’m trading down and grabbing a QB and none thrill me that high, I’m grabbing Alt, and continuing to build a young team.
Still too soon...

first round a guard and DL in the second
not the end of the world. This is a team game
not a QB game
The QBs go 1, 2, 3 this year. It's a lock. Then Harrison 4.
Take the BPA or try and trade down.
Also fair or not I could see this group of coaches and front office decision makers liking Bo Nix.
Relax and enjoy the wins that don’t come around very often these days….
All of which are taking QBs... No chance in hell!
it's all about talent evaluation, not draft position.

I'm assuming you are being tongue in cheek.
Nevertheless, I think this is a very real possibility anyway.
I can’t wait until 2029 & we get articles…‘Giants need one more weapon for Jones to take the leap into the playoffs.’ 🤣.
They have to get some roadgraders in the middle.
If the Giants are going this route, they should trade into the first round simply to secure the 5th year option.

NO to McCarthy. He's not an upgrade.
This.

Keep your kids away from ours.

The 2023 offensive line might of been a more historical failure versus the 2021 “miscalculation”. And Im 100% serious on that.
We may indeed have 3 qbs who could win games under top 10 o-lines. Were just that bad in that department.

Very tongue in cheek.
They need to draft OL, because no one can function behind this line.
Not a fan of McCarthy. Last few weeks have dropped his worth considerably. He's far from NFL Ready!
