i would start playing him right away.
we might want to keep him with a restructured lower contract.
we have nothing at G for 2024.
he started out slow, they benched him.
he came back at LG and played well. Moved to RG played well.
Then had a personal issue this past week and didnt play today today. didnt play last week too.
ive seen Pugh, Ezedeu, McKethan, Bredeson, Lemeueix, Mayfield.
hes better than all of them, not saying much, but hes heads and shoulder better.
give bredeson one more start at LG and if he doesnt improve continue to play pugh after the bye.
Bredeson and Pugh are both FA. (so is Lemieux).
get it down to 4.5 ill bring him back.
It is 100% the QB. DeVito was sacked 9 times and was 18-26 for 246 for 3 TDs. Daniel Jones hasn’t done that in the past 4 years.
I agree the O line needs improvement but the data on Stroud and Burrow suggest otherwise.
In terms of Glowinski, we don’t know what’s happening with him and even before the latest personal issue he seems to have fallen out of favor with the coaching staff.
As to how to improve the OL, I’d look to draft Zinter or Keegan from Michigan with one of the 2nd round picks next year.
And I’d fire Bobby Johnson.
Glowinski is already signed for next year. Bredesen has not improved at all that I can see. At this point I would look elsewhere.
But Bobby J has to go. Not one OL on this team has improved in two years of his coaching.
He'd be a $1.5 dead money hit, but $5.7 mill cap savings...they should be able to negotiate that down if they want to keep him.

is likely cut this offseason. I suspect Giants bring in a younger G in FA

I don’t think they do. It’s structured as an easy cut. That 4.2m variable savings is useful. I suspect they’d keep Bredeson as a utility man in the middle and as depth reserve.
Right now we have a left tackle and hopefully a center.
Evan Neal and Ezedu will be on the team next year, but not sure how much contribution we expect from either.
We potentially need 3 new starters. Yuck.
And a new OL coach.
Bredeson may have been harmed by having to be ready for 3 positions. Same with Ezeudu. Both could stay next year until they are beaten out. McKethan too. Glowinski is just an up and down player.
I would be okay with Glowinski finishing the year as a starter but the Giants need to move on from him for sure. The cap saving alone might be worth cuttting him.
Yes, the OL still needs work, but it is absolutely also the QB.
And for someone to say the problem with the Giants' offense is 100% QB and not on the recurring lousy OLine is laughable. Giants do need a new OLine coach who can get something functional out of Evan Neal and the two UNC guards.
I don't understand how fans can claim this with absolute certainty but have an allergic reaction to the counterpoint being state with equal certainty.
I suspect it's a matter of having different burdens of proof.
Personally, I look at DJ and I think he has not done enough to prove to me that he is good enough to win a championship. I see flaws and weaknesses that can't sufficiently be covered up simply by building the supporting cast to a level that would allow DJ (or the Giants) to consistently succeed, and I think that near-perfect roster approach is almost impossible to maintain (due to injuries, free agency, retirement, roster churn, etc.) even if a team is lucky enough to nail it.
It seems to me that other fans (maybe you fall into this group, I won't assume that) feel that the surrounding circumstances are such that they can't blame DJ enough to justify replacing him.
But that's fundamentally the disconnect. Some fans are looking for definitive proof that DJ is the answer. And other fans are looking for definitive proof that DJ is NOT the answer. And none of the proof is definitive enough, so round and round we go. Does that seem like a fair assessment of the situation from your viewpoint?
