I was reading that successful NBA teams need to lean on players on their rookie contracts to keep cap room for stars. Right now, that means Grimes, Quickley and to a lesser extent, McBride. (Am I forgetting someone?)
I've assumed all those picks the Knicks have acquired were trading chips for securing a star or stars. But is it possible the plan is to have the extra picks to replace that depth as some or all of those players depart in free agency?
I really enjoy watching this group but if some move on to bigger contracts, whatcha gonna do?
Mitch with the highlight reel single hand crossover
but maybe moving him to the bench is the best thing for him, DDV didnt shoot well at all tonight 2 for 8, but still had 3 boards, 5 assists and was a +3 in a blowout..
You can see the difference with how he plays with the starters compared to Grimes
I think what bothers me is the timidness with the ball
the defensive intensity wasn't where it needed to be too much of the night, and the Knicks are always prone to these types of shooting nights. If they can get on a roll at some point I wonder if Mitch starts getting some all star chatter. He is an absolute offensive rebounding machine. 7 more last night against one of the best rebounders in the league. DD needs to start. Grimes is a zero in the starting lineup right now. Let him get his game together on the 2nd unit playing off IQ.

Very disappointing season so far from him. Haven't seen that offensive growth and the defense has taken a step back.
Tough loss but Minny is really good. Edwards is a monster.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Knicks were calling around offering a package of Grimes, Fournier and a couple of picks for an upgrade at the 2, possibly offering Quick if needed
Woj: Before launching suit against Toronto that includes questioning of Adam Silver’s objectivity, Knicks owner James Dolan resigned his positions on the Board of Governors’ influential advisory/finance and media committees, according to memo obtained by ESPN

Looking like Iverson.
Looking like Iverson.
That was slick, didn’t know he had that in him
Its not about making shots, shots fall, shots dont, its effort and what are you doing besides scoring and shot selection..

Also the way they are losing to the better teams

Yeah most likely he is saved for the eventual Donovan Mitchell trade
