I remember making the point that Lamar Jackson has more college production passing and rushing than Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley combined. Daniels has a similar resume. Watching him outrun angles against SEC defenders AND being an incredibly productive passer...at this point I think he's the #1 pick overall. Or at least should be.

FWIW, I think you're right on this one.
Sam Hartman is doing something stupid every time he throws the ball.
The lead up to the draft is a funny and real thing. Williams will be dissected mentally and physically. Only knock on Daniels is his slender frame but everyone knows that is addressed by a nfl weight and strength program. Will add 10-15 pounds easily.
Something to think about…look at what Jackson is doing for Baltimore this year. Daniels is a much better passer at this stage and his release time is off the charts. Daniels has a legit chance to go #1. Remember, it only takes one team to be smitten with him….
I'll take Daniels. More accurate, better arm. More explosive and dynamic. Makes reads through all progressions. Never looks rattled. My bet is he will weigh 220 by the combine and be QB 1. 4 TD passes against that defense is impressive. Better than anything Williams or Maye has done. He'll be gone when the Giants pick.
Daniels doesn't have a better arm than Williams. That's absurd. Williams has established he can throw with incredible accuracy and power on the run, from different arm angles, into tight windows. Williams has the best overall arm talent in the class.
I agree with you that William has a better arm talent than Daniels; however, I really question Williams’ antics. He acts like a child. If the Giants are going to consider him as their pick, they’re going to have to get into his head to see if he can handle the New York media. As of now, I’m not convinced he can take the heat.
You are going to be very surprised Re what scouts and teams think of Daniels arm talent compared to Williams leading up to the draft. Daniels has a cannon and his release is the best I have seen in awhile. Word is getting out on Daniels arm and more specifically his lightning release. Even Sy has indicated there is a lot more to Daniels that will come out leading to the draft as his arrow is pointed north in a big way.
I don't doubt Daniels has a very good arm and will rise on boards. But Williams' best trait relates to his arm, ability to move, keep eyes downfield, and throw into tight windows on the run. It's potential Mahomes/Rodgers stuff.

I’m sorry. You lost me when you compared Williams to Mahomes and Rodgers. You realize Williams did NOT elevate the USC team, besides the absurdity of comparing his arm talent to 2 of the best QBs to ever play the game? Are you part of his family or entourage?
Who had the gruesome leg injury today broke both fibula and tibula. Both guards for Michigan are decent prospects expected to be drafted from round 2-4.
Feel bad for the kid. Some say he is gonna be an all-American.

There is a reason Williams is consensus #1 and it's not because of his sunny personality. His game is reminiscent of those two. That's why people are excited. You say he didn't elevate USC? Well Mahomes didn't elevate Texas Tech. Daniels looks like he has a nice strong arm, he isn't in Williams' class right now.

Consensus No. 1 by whom? Draft pundits? Neither you nor I know what NFL scouts think of Williams and Daniels, or the other QBs. Williams is the 'consensus number one' because he won the Heisman last year. You use words like potential and reminiscent. How many times have we heard 'he's the next LT'?
Daniels has had one game below 63 percent completions - and that was 59.5 in the first game of the year against a good FSU team. Williams has had 4 games below 63, including 56, 56 and 57.
And then there is the fact one has run for more than 1100 yards and the other for 140.
If you want to say Williams has Mahomes like traits, well Daniels is a taller, faster, more accurate Lamar Jackson who might actually get through progressions better than Lamar.
But this is all talk. Just like with election polls there is only one draft guide that matters - the one that gets written on April 25th.

I'm looking forward to Iowa Michigan like I'm looking forward to a hole in my head.
I am interested in UGA 'Bama.
Oregon / Washington on Friday should be the best of the conf championship games, with Oklahoma St / Texas as a maybe. Georgia and Michigan should win easily. The wild card is Louisville / FSU. Hopefully Louisville will bounce back after yesterday and take the Noles out of the final 4 discussion.

I’m not so sure Georgia wins easily.
If Michigan can score more than two TDs and not turn over the ball they will win without difficulty. The only time Iowa played a decent Big Ten
Team this year in Penn State they were smoked.
Not really. Oregon is playing well. Washington has needed miracles against teams that aren’t particularly good. The same Stanford team you watched yesterday had the ball down two late in the fourth quarter against the Huskies. They needed a game ending FG against the Cougs. They looked terrible against Arizona State.
will do this week to try and drop FSU from the playoffs again.
To be fair, FSU didn’t look remotely close to a top 4 team yesterday. Sure they squeaked out a win against a bad Florida team but it certainly wasn’t pretty. They should still be ranked 4 based on being undefeated and I fully expect them to be. But losing their QB has really hurt their chances to win a game in the playoffs. Without Travis, I’m not sure anyone outside of FSU fans have much of an appetite to watch them get curbstomped by Georgia in the playoffs. I was really rooting for them to get in when Travis was playing but, they stood a punchers chance, imo. Not so much now

FWIW, Washington barely beat Wash St and they had their starting QB. Remember Florida's record is identical to Wash St and SEC football is far better tha PAC-12. And Georgia squeaked out a win vs Georgia Tech. Down here UM, UF and FSU playing each other is death sport. (Probably like most rivalry games.) If UF was 2-8 and beat FSU it would be virtually a successful season.
FSU's defense will keep them in any game. UFs 1st TD was a gimmee from the refs calling a PF on a simple tackle play. Norvelle was way to cautious with the QB. I think his 1st half offense decisions have been awful all year. Not sure why he is so conservative to start games.
Georgia isn't really Georgia this year, but very few teams would beat Georgia.
Michigan probably wipes the floor with Washington.
Michigan lays the wood on defense plus Harbaugh returns
Should be a easy win over Iowa.
Intrigued by Georgia vs Bama as Georgia defense not as strong as previous 2 years.
Oregon should handle Huskies who are not playing that well. Penix has struggled a bit.
If Ewers is on Texas should beat OSU.
I have no idea about FSU vs Louisville. I do know I want the Giants to draft Benson to replace Barkley.

Everyone from ESPN trying to make the case for it. I keep seeing people say “we can’t have another TCU”, while ignoring that TCU dominated their semi final

Not sure what Washington has to do with anything. They aren’t getting in. Besides that, I clearly said that FSU likely has the 4 spot for now so I’m not sure what you’re arguing about? It’s my personal opinion that FSU isn’t good enough to beat any of the other 3 teams with their QB. It’s ok to have opinions.
I get it. You live in Florida and want to fiercely defend FSU. And that’s cool. But no sense getting your panties in a bunch before we even see how things shake out. Seems like a tremendous waste of energy to me

If the Committee is being honest, FSU is just not the same team without Travis. So, there is a reasonable case to drop them out because they just aren't one of the four best teams right now.
To me, the four best teams playing right now are Georgia, Michigan, Washington and Oregon.
And I could buy someone saying Ohio State still belongs in that conversation.

Wahington is PAC-12 and that itself is questionable.
You could probably throw in OSU, Texas and Alabama(who got lucky yesterday). Georgia and Michigan are probably the best two teams, period. With Travis, FSU is very dangerous and likely #3. I can semi understand FSU as less attractive and perhaps Louisville gives then a bad time. Let's see if Norvelle lets Rodemaker make some plays next week.
Like the NFL, the NCAA wants lots of offense, so I can see them looking to bypass FSU based on offensive expectations. When you look at it from the commercial POV, I can see it.

I agree with everything you’ve said except I’d replace Washington with Texas or Ohio State. The Huskies haven’t played well since the Oregon game.
hes amazing.
He's unlikely to come out but if he does he wont make it out of the first round.
Very good chance to go #1 overall if he stays though
40 TDs/4 INTs, 72% comp%, 11+ YPA; 1,100+ yards rushing, 8.4 YPA, 10 TDs.
50 total TDs for the year.
Simply remarkable.

But I’d put Daniels a clear second.

Drake Maye against ranked teams: 1-3 (.250)
I will say that USC's O-Line is terrible and UNC's offense sucks balls as well

Seems high IMO.
Not really. Oregon is playing well. Washington has needed miracles against teams that aren’t particularly good. The same Stanford team you watched yesterday had the ball down two late in the fourth quarter against the Huskies. They needed a game ending FG against the Cougs. They looked terrible against Arizona State.
2. Michigan
3. Washington
4. Florida State
To be fair, FSU didn’t look remotely close to a top 4 team yesterday. Not so much now

will do this week to try and drop FSU from the playoffs again.

A game where the records really don't matter...
BTW, I think the slot receiver for Bama was offsides on that winning TD.
Just chiming in now, and had no dog in the hunt, but that was a great college football game. Unbelievable ending.
But hoping Alabama does not upset Georgia....

I agree with everything you’ve said except I’d replace Washington with Texas or Ohio State. The Huskies haven’t played well since the Oregon game.
