Just remember, Tony Khan went with the Young Fucks, a blood-drinking douche and Jungle Bitch over CM Punk.
But that's seriously crazy. You never say never, but I legit never thought I'd see CM Punk in the WWE ever again. Too much bad blood. Too much animosity. But hey, Hogan came back, Hart came back...

It had a nice short run, but it's just god awful now. They have some legit talent, but Tony Khan is an atrocious booker and the storylines are nonsensical.
MJF will be making a HUGE mistake if he re-signs in January. He should jump ship.
But it's about as bad a thing as possible for them quite frankly.
I mean Tony Khan has a lot of money (well, his dad does), but AEW is so beyond awful and there's no way that they can compete with WWE on any level. WWE may be crap at times, but it's stars, stars and more stars.
Unlike WCW, AEW hasn't made any real stars. MJF and that's it...and even MJF isn't a household name like Goldberg, Sting and others were back in the day.
AEW may never "fold" or sell to WWE, but they can't compete. They simply can't. They had a nice little run, but Tony's mark booking and loyalty to the wrong people sunk it in the end.

The way Punk acted and how many times he acted like a total jerkoff Khan had absolutely no choice but to get rid of him.

Punk's act is tired.
Could be, but at least he was/is a draw. You tend to give more rope to stars, as opposed to the Young Bucks, Adam Page and Jack Perry, who can't draw a nickel. Tony should've punished his EVPs, but instead, he said on national TV he was scared for his life and fired Punk.
Well, now the rich get richer and AEW continues to wallow in mediocrity. What stars are there? I mean their last two big signings were Jay White and Will Ospreay. WWE just brought back CM Punk and Randy Orton. It's no contest. Khan is a mark and books like a mark and that's why his audience has been shrinking since Punk left.

They gave Punk plenty of rope. He chose to hang himself with that rope. They had no choice. Punk will wear out his welcome very quickly in WWE too. He can't help himself.
Ospreay is going to be a big star once he is fully onboard after the new japan stuff ends
Apparently he was irate when Punk showed up and Michael Cole, Corey Graves and others had to talk him down.
I would be truly shocked if HHH didnt talk to Seth Rollins before signing Punk bsck, there is video of Seth looking pissed off but i wonder how much is that storytelling in front of a live crowd..

I don't see it that way. The thing about Punk is that he's a very proud and self-confident guy. He's not going to be insulted and degraded by anyone, especially by inferior jackasses like the Young Bucks, Adam Page and Jack Perry. I'm not a Punk fanboy, but it's insane what those guys get away with...and the Bucks were EVPs! What the hell have they done to warrant that?
After the fight with Kenny and the Bucks, Punk came back and was shortly called out on TV by Jungle Boy. It was petty and immature. And before that, apparently Punk wanted to reconcile with the Bucks and Kenny. While Kenny was open to making amends, the Bucks apparently didn't want to meet him and even apparently ghosted him once or twice when their intermediaries set up meetings. And it didn't help that Tony had to go on camera and say he was "scared for his life".
It could be Punk was unpopular, but it's also possible that the Bucks, Adam Page and Jack Perry, who all run in the same circle, were jealous of him and had it out for him from day 1.
As for Ospreay, he's never going to be a huge star in the US. He's definitely talented, but he'll never be a star. He doesn't have the personality. AEW has talent (Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs, Juice Robinson...), but the only true self-made star is MJF, even though they've booked him terribly. He needs to leave in January.

Oh i know he hates him in real life, but id still be shocked if he didnt know...
Punk looks like a different person. They made him cut his hair, shave, tan etc. He LOOKS like a star.
I thought he looked gaunt, dirty, and washed up in AEW.
WWE knows what they are doing from a production standpoint. This will be managed appropriately and him and rollins are going to have a RED HOT program to Mania
to me, but I've never met him to really know. He should sell even more tickets than the hot WWE is selling now. The WWE lost me 20 years ago with the format and style of TV. AEW is going downhill with ex-WWE people and skits and in ring talking. I'm watching AEW now on my DVR and everyone in the ring just stopped because music started to play. Makes no sense. I enjoy death match wrestling and foreign language wrestling. Foreign language death match wrestling is good too.
He was a teen fan of Punk when Punk was in ROH. Punk had a rough patch with everyone when he left WWE in 2014; but Rollins is smart. He knows he could have a BIG money feud with Punk. That's where this is going.

The question will be can Punk make it to April without self-sabotaging himself? Four months is a long time for Punk to peacefully interact with his fellow wrestlers.Based on past performances,I'd be surprised if he makes it to April!

The inmates dont run the asylum in WWE. This is a publicly traded co, with major business interests. Itll be fine

Hope you're right, but when has Punk ever worried about anything except himself. He could have promised HHH the moon, but the jury will always be out when it comes to his extended behavior!
But I would be shocked if it wasn't a limited, short-term deal ala Goldberg/Lesnar. That's Punk's value given how much heat there is with him. Rollins is a primadonna, and he'll milk this for what it's worth, but Cody has blown past him even with the belt.
My son and his friend wanted to watch it last night, and the point came up with another dad that one of the main problems with AEW is it caves into the internet/ECW crowd way too much. It feels like they don't even have storylines any more.
As far as punk goes I didn’t think that they would do it
But I’m sure hhh and nick kahn told punk any bullshit and he’s gone but as hhh has said repeatedly in the past couple months that if the fans want it bad enough and if it’s possible he’ll make it happen. He recently said Vince taught him if there is any doubt give the fans what they want (except title reigns), those it’s pretty well known his belief has always been the baby face never wins on the first shot it’s all about the journey and struggles which in turn makes the payoff that much bigger

Yup, Rollins knows how to put his differencss aside and work with someone, He did it with Riddle and he hates Riddle more than anyond

That’s the thing with Aew there is no storytelling there. They start what could be a good story and the next ppv they have the match and move on. Look at what they did earlier this year they have the biggest ple in company history and what do they do? Have another ple the very next week. The only thing I really pay attention to is the edge and Christian story because they know what they are doing. Hopefully they learn from those two but I have zero faith in that. Rich kid with daddy’s money I’m sure in his mind he knows everything and everybody else doesn’t plus add TK’s knee jerk emotional responses to everything the wwe does like he has to one up them at every turn instead of staying in their lane and actually build something to compete
but there is zero storyline, they get some interesting signings and then its like ok he wrestles this guy this week, another guy another week and then a different guy and its like who is he feuding with?
But a lot of guys like it because they basically run the place, they can do what they want, say what they want on the mic and they habe a nice easy schedule and they are happy..

Early reports are that it's a multi-year deal. Unconfirmed.

I've met every big wrestler from the past 20-30 years. Austin Rock, HBK, HHH, Cena, Vince, Brock, Hogan, Roman, Rollins etc etc. Punk's a huge asshole. One of if not the biggest in all of Wrestling. Seth is right up there as is Cena. People say Brock is up there, but he's always been a sweetheart to me.

Next time you see Brock, call him "sweetheart". He really likes that.
He’s good on the mic, but his wrestling is what it use to be as he’s a ton older. WWE is in a good place right now and really don’t need him. This seems like a low reward/high risk type signing IMO.

look at the raw viewership tonight, watch the reactions of his return, thats the reward and plus the storyline writes itself

AEW had a huge pop when on the first episode of his comeback too. It went downhill pretty fast after that. The guy isn’t easy to work with, and will wear out his welcome sooner rather than later.

AEW also doesnt have Triple H booking and crybabies like the young bucks running things..
AEW are good at debuts but terrible at following up and actually creating storylines because the guys they have running it are used to working indy shows that are one offs, they have no idea how to create a story line..
And a lot of that is due to Tony's booking. MJF is the only legit star they have. Everyone else is either old has-beens (Edge, Sting...), guys who have been directionless (Wardlow, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks) or mediocre.

It has nothing to do with booking. CM Punk wore out his welcome 10 years ago at WWE, he wore out his welcome at AEW, he will wear out his welcome at WWE again. The guy has a strong history of not getting along with people and you guys look past that. Triple H isn’t going to change the guy that is set in his ways.

@SeanRossSapp
Here are the details we have as of now:
CM Punk told at least one person close to him he had an hour long conversation with Triple H last week.
WWE staff, reps, creative had no idea. He walked through the back in plain site minutes before he appeared. They had cleared an area out.
Triple H took over calling the show in the last couple of minutes and called for the copyright logo. Even many in production didn't know

My son and his friend wanted to watch it last night, and the point came up with another dad that one of the main problems with AEW is it caves into the internet/ECW crowd way too much. It feels like they don't even have storylines any more.

He really likes that.
look at the raw viewership tonight, watch the reactions of his return, thats the reward and plus the storyline writes itself
Preferably without blood-drinking, too

Love Punk being back in the WWE over AEW.. I'm all about storylines rather than a 5 star match
Preferably without blood-drinking, too
That was gross lol

He’s good on the mic, but his wrestling is what it use to be as he’s a ton older. WWE is in a good place right now and really don’t need him. This seems like a low reward/high risk type signing IMO.

His ego wont let him and him continueing to go at HHH and HBK is making it even worse
He is the Dave Gettleman of booking.

Blast from the past username. You the original Vin R who was known around these parts as a Batman fan?

And stayed away from the booking. They have so many vets in the back just collecting checks - shouldn't be this bad

Haha yup! Oddly enough I just put on Lego Batman for my son
