Even if you had your choice of QBs do you think most rookie QBs have the ability to make the kind of impact that turns a 3 or 4 win team into a 9-10 win team? And that’s aside from the bust factor altogether.
it's about talent evaluation not draft position anyway. shitty teams draft at the top of the draft year after year and stay shitty. good teams pick up talent from any draft position.
let's prove we're not as shitty as we've looked all year.
I'm a 66 year old lifetime NY Football Giants fan and I NEVER want to see my team tank. You younger fans have no idea how bad the G-men were in the 1970's, I know the team has been mismanaged for awhile in the last 10 years, but I never agree with the idea of tanking for a pick. That's not the Giants way of doing things.

Shows Bellechick might still have it. They’ll get a shot at a franchise QB while Giants will end up with an OT project and another year of Dan Jones arguments on BBI.
The UDFA is the better QB than the 15th overall pick, Mac Jones. The Giants will have a chance to draft a QB. It's about who you pick, not where you pick.

I don't get why Zappe hasn't been given a shot this year
Mac Jones still in the game should be the glowing neon sign that reads "We're tanking"
Not only is he in the game, he is literally passing every down. This is how you tank. Players can play hard but coaches don’t put players in positions to succeed. They don’t have to say anything, they just have to do it
The UDFA is the better QB than the 15th overall pick, Mac Jones. The Giants will have a chance to draft a QB. It's about who you pick, not where you pick.
1/2 the team is gonna be cleared out and removed. Not to mention that it’s winning against a bottom 3 team.
This team is not gonna be able to just trade up and take any qb they want. There are 10+ teams that need good qbs that you’ll be bidding against or there will be teams thwt won’t trade out because they neee to stay put and draft there new qb
If you don’t want to root for losses that’s fine. But when we are staring down the barrel of another awful season then don’t complain next year.
You are being ridiculous. The whining and pissing about winning 7-0 at home against a 2-8 team is brutal. The Giants are starting Tommy DeVito, what do you want them to do? Drop the INT?
And who do you want that can only be obtained at #2? Drake Maye?
people forget that tanking in 2003 was the only reason we were within striking distance to be able to get Eli. If they won some meaningless games at the end of that season they are too far back to be able to make that trade.

Yes, and we want our GM to have his pick of who we wants...
Really pleasantly surprised how well DeVito is playing.

And as a 65-year-old Giants fan who lived thru the '70s too, there is a difference between taking and fans wanting a loss. Those '70s teams were putrid. Your "Giants way" hasn't gotten them anywhere for more than a decade. There is nothing wrong in this scenario with wanting them to play the young guys as much as possible to get experience, wanting them to play well, but still lose, if it means 10 to 15 years of really good football because they can find a franchise QB. Picking 6th to 15th is not likely to cut it.

You can't say that without acknowledging draft position as a factor. I'm not a fan of tanking and couldn't actively root for a loss but its disingenuous to ignore the fact that, yes, losing = a better opportunity for the future.
yeah the Giants have sucked and not tanked for years...where has that got us recently...we have been one of the most inept franchises over the last 10 years.
people forget that tanking in 2003 was the only reason we were within striking distance to be able to get Eli. If they won some meaningless games at the end of that season they are too far back to be able to make that trade.
It's November 26th. What the fuck do you want them to do? Drop INT's?
It's such a dumb fan argument. Yes, I want a he top pick, but, teams don't throw games. And if they did, it would be this game on both sides.
Again, Mac Jones was drafted 15th overall. DeVito is better.
The UDFA is the better QB than the 15th overall pick, Mac Jones. The Giants will have a chance to draft a QB. It's about who you pick, not where you pick.
But literally not one person who analyses prospects thinks Mac Jones is the caliber or Caleb or Drake. He’s not even remotely close to Jayden Daniels. These are elite prospects we’re talking about.
I don’t quite understand how the anti-tank people are also the “Shoot Daniel Jones into the sun” people. Winning games in a meaningless season against a dreadful team doesn’t build culture. It doesn’t do shit.
The Giants traded one of their best defenders, they are load managing their best offensive player, their best defender is taking the conservative route back from a hamstring pull, and they made no attempt to acquire a veteran starter when Jones got hurt.

We have plenty good idea how bad they were back then. You old guys never shut the fuck up about the 70s and those stupid fucking days. That's literally all you babble about.

Who do you think is the franchise QB they can get at 10 or 12? No, I don't want them to drop the INT. I want to see young guys get a lot of playing time (Hyatt, Gray, Hawkins) and see them show promise and get a ton of experience for next year and beyond, while staying close but losing.

Sean I'm not asking or expecting them to tank. All I'm saying is its definitely beneficial, but I do not expect them to do so. I would prefer they lose, thats all. Just saying that above for the people who act like losses are never a good thing and it doesn't matter where we pick. The Patriots are definitely tanking though there's no other explanation to keeping Jones in there. Everyone knows he's done there. The players don't want him out there. Yet he's still out there, despite one awful turnover after another. I would never expect the Giants to do what the Patriots are right now
Guys. It's half time. We're only up 7-0. Keep the faith. We can still lose this. We have a head coach who proved to already have a brain beyond stupidity.
The Giants traded one of their best defenders, they are load managing their best offensive player, their best defender is taking the conservative route back from a hamstring pull, and they made no attempt to acquire a veteran starter when Jones got hurt.
This is what tanking looks like.
Thank you. Bitching about winning this game is wasted energy. That's my point. The hissy fits during the game is tiring.
The Giants are only up 7-0 because Mac Jones (drafted 15th) is the worst QB in the NFL. I'm not going to waste time bitching because Okereke didn't drop an INT intentionally.
I get wanting a better pick...but I don't get actually cheering for a lost or getting mad when we play well? I mean it is what it is, but professionals don't tank.

The number of coaches and ex-players who say exactly the opposite is endless.
Here's an idea that I think will make every fan here get a smile....

Winning culture is important.....they will get a good player whereever they draft.....Win football games
I feel so great about building a winning culture against a team literally tanking against us

there is no carrying over...you win with good players...simple as that.
Agreed.
If they need a QB Schoen will figure it out

Most seem to think the QB's will all be taken in the first three picks. It's nonsense.
Giants own four picks in the top 100. If they want a guy, they'll get him.
exactly.

Holy Cow, what a take!
There are more draft implications than playoff implications!
seriously have some of the fans been living under a rock. You could make the case we have been the worst run franchise over the last decade.
there is no "giants way" still in the building...
Dropping from 1 to 2 vs 2/3 to 10+ isn't exactly comparable
