The Giants traded one of their best defenders, they are load managing their best offensive player, their best defender is taking the conservative route back from a hamstring pull, and they made no attempt to acquire a veteran starter when Jones got hurt.
This is what tanking looks like.
Except the "make no attempt" guy is better than Jones is lol Daniel Jones is overpaid garbage (on the field)

I agree, to a point. They are not doing a very good job of it....
I could care less about getting a vet QB, BTW. Trading LW was brilliant for what they got. Barkley has a bad ankle and do we want a repeat of Aaron Thomas?
I get wanting a better pick...but I don't get actually cheering for a lost or getting mad when we play well? I mean it is what it is, but professionals don't tank.
a lot of people are just pissed that the Patriots are actually tanking. I dont think anyone here really expects the Giants to actually try to lose. It would just be nice if the team we're playing against wasn't keeping their worst QB option in so they could definitely lose.
You are being ridiculous. The whining and pissing about winning 7-0 at home against a 2-8 team is brutal. The Giants are starting Tommy DeVito, what do you want them to do? Drop the INT?
And who do you want that can only be obtained at #2? Drake Maye?
lol, Giants are playing a FA quarterback, sitting Dex, what exactly is Essex bitching about
RE: RE: RE: Everyone bitching about draft position
The UDFA is the better QB than the 15th overall pick, Mac Jones. The Giants will have a chance to draft a QB. It's about who you pick, not where you pick.
But literally not one person who analyses prospects thinks Mac Jones is the caliber or Caleb or Drake. He’s not even remotely close to Jayden Daniels. These are elite prospects we’re talking about.
I don’t quite understand how the anti-tank people are also the “Shoot Daniel Jones into the sun” people. Winning games in a meaningless season against a dreadful team doesn’t build culture. It doesn’t do shit.
The number of coaches and ex-players who say exactly the opposite is endless.
When the Giants fired Joe Judge, did they give a shit about the last season Dallas win his first year? That game was infinitely more meaningful than anything we’ve seen this season. It didn’t carry over to next season and 15 games later, no one in ownership gave a fuck.

Thank you. Bitching about winning this game is wasted energy. That's my point. The hissy fits during the game is tiring.
The Giants are only up 7-0 because Mac Jones (drafted 15th) is the worst QB in the NFL. I'm not going to waste time bitching because Okereke didn't drop an INT intentionally.
Nobody is saying that Okreke had to drop the int. He didn’t. And of course shouldn’t. I think what people are saying is BB is literally putting his team inkk no positions not to win, but keeping Jones in and not running. Vilma is literally standing up screaming to run

We're tanking - at least legally. Not our fault Mac Jones is awful. If the Giants weren't tanking, they wouldn't have traded Leonard Williams, and they'd be starting the veteran, Matt Barkley, at QB. Starting an UDFA at QB when you're 3-8 is the definition of tanking.

And that is relevant to Game 12 of this season how?
Short of benching the starters, which would get Daboll fired, this is what tanking looks like. That the UDFA is better than the guys above him on the depth chart is the problem.
the draft will take care of itself.
If they need a QB Schoen will figure it out
Most seem to think the QB's will all be taken in the first three picks. It's nonsense.
Giants own four picks in the top 100. If they want a guy, they'll get him.
Any move up to the top 3 will cost this year's first and next year's first - to start. So figure 2 firsts, a 2nd (probably our own and a fourth. Is that worth winning today's game?
In my view, no matter what our record ends up being we are still
2 losses better off in draft position than we deserve to be. Those losses to the Jets and Buf were fluky "once in a blue moon" type losses. Also I think if we were healthy we wouldn't even be close to this record, so overall I think our draft spot will be better for us than our team talent deserves
that given the right traits and circumstances around you, you can be successful in the NFL. You don’t need to be a first round pick. Even if Giants drop in the draft, which ultimately I don’t believe will happen, they’ll pick the BPA and not force a QB pick.
You guys really think with a top 1-3 pick, that this moron team will actually get it right?
It's more likely with picks 1-3 than it is with picks 5-9, yes?
5 to 9? More like 9 to 12. They are 5 right now. A win today and some bad results elsewhere and they could be 10 or 11. The good news is Atlanta and Tenn. are winning. Bucs aren't helping.
NYG has done absolutely nothing in this game other than take what Mac Jones has given them in inexplicable fashion.
A bunch of drama queens here.
This is what tanking looks like.

Better chance than last time they picked 2nd
if pats are smart just run run run
they have roches, robinson, davidson - thats it.
What is Belichick doing?...

Any thoughts on the Patriots “actually tanking” now Mook?
The hand-ringing over winning this game and what it will cost us in draft capital is ridiculous.

As a Stevenson fantasy owner it’s infuriating
Keeping McG is definitely tanking
Come on. Keep the faith. They'll lose this game 24-7 and all you draft nerds all can STFU.
