Congrats to Jalin Hyatt on his 1st 100+ yard receiving game.

Ira : 11/26/2023 6:07 pm
He caught 5 of 6 targets for 109 total yards averaging 21.8 yards per reception. He's a fine, young player who has a great future in blue!

RC- exactly!

There are a LOT of young players on this team. Who is part of the core? That’s super important to find out.

Hyatt is one of them. The development of McFadden and Thibs has also been a real positive. It also looks like we may have a good young CB in Banks. Lawrence and Thomas are as expected.

Everything else? No comment.

True. Wan'dale Robinson was the only Giant to have a 100 yard receiving game last year. He had exactly 100 on 9 receptions against the Lions before injuring his ACL in the 4Q of that game.

So Hyatt today had only the 2nd 100 yard receiving game for the Giants in the last two seasons.
He was great today
HBart : 11/26/2023 6:25 pm : link
And DeVito was money getting it to him.

Hyatt's the first WR in a while I always expect to catch the ball. He's great to watch.

Shhh it wouldn’t have taken him til the end of November if we had actual NFL QBs on the roster.

I seriously doubt that there is anyone who doesn't want player development. In fact most of us if not all of us here want the young players to get more playing time to aid in their development.

Just imagine if we could have another real good receiver on the other side. This coming year‘s draft is filled with good WR talent. And, it’s not made up of a bunch of Smurfs like it was this year.

Seems like some on BBI just want the Giants to lose.

It's not one or the other. Hyatts development and the pats kicker missing a 35 yd FG have nothing to do with each other
There is a lot to be excited about with the drafts the last two years.

Hyatt was impressive today and perhaps not seen on TV (this is my first time seeing him live), he was open often, a couple occasions deep if Tommy had had another second (or on one play, he never looked).

You can’t be unhappy and happy about the win at the same time.
Only 11 WRs have reached 100 yds with Jones

In his 60 NFL games (and 4 of those were in 2019)

Only 2 games last year did a WR reach 100 yds with Jones(WanDale & Hodgkins)

Hodgins was playoffs, which is fair to mention, but often excluded for statistical purposes, as when commentator mentioned it had been 19 games since NYG last had a 100y receiver.

Thanks, we could see it a little on TV. I saw, again, on several plays that TD took a sack he had players open he could have hit.
I still think none of the Giants QBs get how fast Hyatt is. They have underthrown him on several deep balls. He and Slayton on the field together are a handful with their speed.
Great to see his juke
JB_in_DC : 11/27/2023 7:47 am : link
that led to the first down in the middle of the game. He can be more than a deep ball threat.

So we have 3 receivers who've proven capable of a 100 yard game: Hodgins, Robinson and Hyatt (11 NFL games after dropping to us because of concerns he'd need to learn NFL route running). And BTW Hodgins had 89 yard against Minny in the regular season with a couple key drops.

How many games has Jones played with those guys?
Hyatt
Daniel in MI : 11/27/2023 8:16 am : link
Not sure what he needs to work on in the playbook or the nuances, but the kid is the most talented WR we have in terms of speed, good hands, natural ability to go up for it, and getting his feet in. That was impressive work today. I loved hitting him crossing and letting him use his speed. Been wondering why it took so long.

10 games for a rookie WR isn't so long at all.

BTW Hyatt's YAC is the best of any rookie WR by a mile, only slightly higher than Mims (who had the same draft time big play excitement and route concerns, and been MIA since game 5). Yesterday was the first game all season you could say "__________ has all day" - insert Jones, TT, or TD. More than a little correlation between time to throw and deep ball success.

Of course you can enjoy a win in the short term and also realize it is not the best thing for the team long term. You can break up with someone for very legitimate reasons and yet still miss them.

Most adult humans can process conflicting and complex emotions. If you can't, that is more about you than everyone else.
