Want to save their jobs-you have it wrong. It's actually the opposite-they will roll it back with Jones AND a fixed O-line/ legit #1 receiver. If the Giants draft Jayden Daniels/ Bo Nix, etc., then you can get ready for a 3-14 season. Because if you draft a new QB, you are doing it at the expense of drafting to improve the line and recieving core/other areas of the team. A rookie playing behind this trash line will fail, guaranteed. And going 3-14 will get Daboll and Schoen fired under any circumstance. A rookie QB will not buy them an extra year. Fix the O-line, fix the reciving core, add LB depth, and D line. You do that, you have a chance at 10-7 or 11-6 if you avoid major injury. You know how Mara thinks-that is what he would want. Not to go 3-14 with an overwhelmed rookie.
Just going to put that here.
How'd that work out?
Pencil in that 10-7!
Also, is there only 1 round in the draft? Did they cancel free agency?
They will get OL & Edge help in rounds 2-7 & FA.
How'd that work out?
How do you know Daniels and McCarthy won’t be as good?
The Giants have the 4th worst record in all of pro sports since 2019. Not the NFL, the four major sports. Why are people so afraid of being one or two games worse with a rookie QB
I find it so fascinating that the DJFC is convinced Jones will be better with a better supporting cost. There is nothing to suggest that other than rubbing a rabbit's foot hoping so...
I disagree that “should be better than DJ” is the appropriate measure. You use the first round pick to have the fifth year option. If none of the QB’s available you project to have the realistic upside of not wanting to tender a fifth year option wait until Day 2.

And then he wound up that offseason signing Kenny Golladay & Kyle Rudolph, and telling us the team is far more confident in the offensive line than fans and media members.
How'd that work out?
Considering Kenny Golladay is the worst FA signing in the history of NY sports, how do you think?
Guess what contract signing is a close second?

The number of fans who refuse to let reality slip into their wet dreams about Daniel Jones’ potential is just so hard to understand.
If they draft a QB they are destined for a 3-14 season? Tell that to Houston.

As I've said before, it's a crock that people laud jones for being hardworking and a good person but can't wait to ship the other hardworking good guys out the door for non-performance.
Everyone's fired then too
We all hoped he would continue improving. It looks like not only did he revert back, he got beat to hell which made him more gun-shy, and he is now 2 neck injuries and an ACL backwards.
Schoen has no choice but to invest in the QB position.
