Daniels is the front-runner for the Heisman and a fun, electrifying draft prospect who's going to fly up boards. The Giants must address quarterback. Now.
players will go, and what each team will prioritize, probably worth noting it's from before this weekend, so doesn't account for the change in our expected draft position.
Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me to be honest. And if we keep winning games, not sure we will be in a position to pick one of Williams, Mayre, OR Daniels with trading up.
Would love it if we came away from this draft with Daniels
to a big deal and this mock has Latu going #1? NFW.
Not to say this wouldn't be typical Bears, but even they wouldn't be dumb enough to at least go Harrison...
As much as I love Daniels and would love the selection, I just can't see the Giants going for him. He's just not their - especially for Mara - prototype.
is highly contentious. It would work in our favour, but with two high picks, I don't really see it.
Take Harrison with #1, and see how the draft goes at #2 and #3. Latu could well be there at #4 or a QB that they might like.

I don't see him being there at 5. If he is and we pick there, you couldn't get the card to the podium fast enough for me. Fuck Mara and fuck prototype.
The Bears are going to take a guy No. 1 whose college team refused to let him play for them again because of the severity or his neck injury? He was "retired". Then he change schools to find doctors who finally cleared him to play. People are worried about Jones' neck, but a guy who is hitting people with his head, neck and shoulders all the time isn't a massive risk? Maybe at 15. But not at 1. You can't take that risk at 1.
I would be very excited to see what he can do with a fresh prospect.
There are worse places to be than have Jones start early, assuming he's healthy, and let the kid push him. If Jones falters, the kid plays. If Jones plays well, that means the Giants are winning and DJ is building up his value.
See what happens. This talk that the regime is or isn't going to pick a QB based on some manufactured myth that the clock gets reset or the expectations work for or against them loses sight of the fact that young QBs are expected to play well relatively soon, assuming other things are in place.
Let it play out.
RE: Daboll has gotten the most out of every QB he's coached lately
I would be very excited to see what he can do with a fresh prospect.

highly unlikely, but if he is, would we take him? Does he fit the profile of a NY Giant QB and face of the franchise? As Schoen said, there’s more to just being a QB in NY, he’s got to also have a good head on his shoulders and by all reports I’m not so sure Williams does, at least emotionally. I could see the Giants moving back into the first round to grab their guy, if the one guy they like isn’t there at their top 10 first round pick.
What a strange mock draft which is highly unlikely

point is if the Giants draft a kid this April in round 1 it may or may not buy them some time, but it's more contingent on how good the kid is, early on. If the kid bombs, even in year 1, Schoen and Daboll are in trouble. If they don't draft a kid this coming April and the team bombs, they are in trouble. We don't need to get into Jones' year 1-3 here anymore but Jones wasn't terrible in year 1. If you think he sucked fine he sucked. I don't care anymore.

Maye makes Josh Allen-type off platform throws every single game. That is but one factor in QB play. Daniels is further along overall probably. But his arm is not stronger.

Mara Prototype??? If that’s the case this team doesn’t deserve to win… EVER.

It's not. Ostensibly every person wearing the GM crown has said that NY is a very difficult place to play and that factors into the type of player they scout for the position.

Yes it takes a certain kind of personality to succeed in NY in any sport. Congrats on cracking that elusive code. So it’s not a Mara type, it’s also a Steinbrenner type and a Neil Smith type and a Glen Sather type and a Pat Riley type and a George Young Type.

That's the manufactured myth: that it takes a certain kind of personality to succeed in NY.
You know what wins? Talent. Not some intangible variable that may or may not impact something.

And you blame this belief, which has existed for a century, on John Mara. Makes sense.

Daniels has the strongest arm and best release (by far Re release) in this draft. If you think daniels arm is not at least on par with Maye, you aren’t watching the games
This just isn't true. His arm strength is not on par with Maye. He throws a very nice deep ball. That is about touch and placement. He doesn't throw off platform like the top two guys.

You are quite the mind-reader Shamrock.
Can you guess what I am thinking about your post?
He’s a troll. If we ignore him long enough he will probably (Hopefully?) go away.

Jones?
BTW, QB’s are almost always overdrafted
Just go back to 2019….

I think the Giants will like him better than some of the guys getting more publicity.
He's been discussed repeatedly here, especially on Saturdays.
Apparently, he has a back fracture now. He took an absolute beating this year behind an OL that made NYG's look like the Great Wall of China.
So, I think there is a good chance he stays with his dad and brother and returns for one last hurrah in Boulder.
