The O-line suddenly pulls their heads out of their collective heads out of their you-know-what’s and he gets “all day” to throw the ball ?
And the Gints run the remaining table ? I’d love to see that, a QB controversy. We would not have to draft a QB, but go get studs at DT to replace Leo Williams, a TE to replace Waller and a big ugly RB bruiser to help soften up the defense like Brandon Jacobs did back-in-the-day
Participation is not necessary with any thread.
Think about it this way. Brady was a 6th round pick. Purdy was the last pick of the 7th round. If their respective teams watched them play well and just said “well, they aren’t first round talents and scouts didn’t love them coming out of college so let’s bench them and ignore what we have seen” what would have happened?
It’s very likely DeVito has some bad games down the stretch and this conversation is moot, but it’s something to keep an eye on at this stage. At this point, DeVito behind the same shitty line with the same lack of playmakers at receiver as Jones is 2-1 with 6 TD’s in three games. He actually pushes the ball downfield and outside of a few rookie growing pains (eg. fumbles due to holding the ball too long) he’s played quite well.
This is a lot of fun.

Yeah but why make the dumb headline? It buries whatever point he wanted to make right out of the gate. There's no incentive to take the rest of it seriously.
Or do all these excuses that the Daniel Jones Haters Club complains about not apply to DeVito as well?
I mean…how can you not love a QB getting himself sacked at a historic rate, constantly under throw receivers, and do the bare minimum against the leagues worst teams! Sure - this guy is the next Brady!!!
You guys can hate Daniel Jones all you want - but your views of DeVito are outrageous. And laughable.
No realistic fan has been inconsistent about their view of DJ vs. TD. The only thing anyone has said is that DeVito's production is an indictment of Jones because you'd expect more of a drop off from a $40M veteran QB1 to an undrafted rookie (like we saw with Glennon/Fromm in 2021), but that hasn't happened.
You may see some people giving DeVito more excuses than you think other people give Jones, but it's not the same posters.
Makes sense though - if you're naive enough to still believe in DJ after all these years, it's probably asking a bit much for you to pay attention to the fact that different people can have different opinions and that does not create an inconsistent consensus.

Exactly … he’s been with the starters 4 weeks. An open mind is in order.
Lol …One of my dads favorites …
“Balls, said the queen, if I had them I’d be king. Nuts, said the court jester, I’ve got them and I’m not king.”
And it is likely that only 1 or less of those QBs will actually turn into a franchise QB. This isn’t like Eli’s year.
Forget about any comparisons to Brady.

Can we not compare DeVito to the QB GOAT/TB12? And a damn good QB in Romo?
Slow down. Now I think both he & TT have been better this season than the QB stealing $40 million from us.
As is typical with this board I’m sure I’ll be labeled a DJ fan boy but can we pump the brakes on Taylor and DeVito being as hood or better than Jones?
In Jones’s losses he faced Dallas, @SF, Seattle and @ Miami.
Taylor blew the fucking Buffalo game and pretty much personally cost us that one. Posted 9 and 14 points going 1-1 against Buffalo and the Commanders.
Taylor and DeVito lead us to a combined 10 points in the Jets game. Taylor looked absolutely brutal that game before getting hurt.
DeVito is a really nice story and I’m rooting for him but if we can nitpick Jones performances based on who the opponents are, we should do that same for each QB.
Just call a spade a spade.
You're wasting your time but not alone. Fans feel compelled to hate on Jones and remind everyone how "horrible" he is, daily. It won't matter as we're just fans on a message board --the powers that be have their own educated opinions on Jones. They aren't cutting him. HE's going to get another shot even if the Giants draft a kid in round 1. Deal with it.
There is usually a common link, the same fans bashing him without mercy day after day are usually the same ones that hated the pick in 2019. It is what it is. Saying the guy is stealing money is just bitter noise.
He isn't playing like shit and that in and of itself speaks to not only Devito but the coaching and scouting that brought him in.
He's evolving. Where he winds up is anyone's guess. Every QB alive in the NFL this moment has a good enough arm to make it because the arm is literally the easiest and first thing scouts will identify in a prospect.
It's what's between the ears. It's how the QB operates and how he identifies things and how he reads defenses. And health. Add it all up, wait X amount of games, hopefully the roster isn't abominable which allows one to easily scout the QB and go from there.
Saying the guy can't throw the ball isn't true. Anyone can at this level. It's so much more than that.
4 games. No one knows shit other than Devito will get to tell his grandkids that he won games at the NFL level. The story is just beginning we will see how long it lasts.

"We should nitpick a 5th year vet the same as a UDFA QB that's been in the NFL for 3 months" is nuts.
Guess Tommy should have been overall #1. Just kidding , of course, and I don’t know how far his career will develop but here’s a few comments :
Daboll yesterday gave a nuanced review of DeVito’s response to his “What did you see on that play?” question when he came off the field . The QB actually exceeded expectations . Also contrary to the poster above who tried to couple him with the balloon -armed Fromm, DeVito actually spins a tight ball , with accuracy and plus velocity although he doesn’t have a cannon . Did you realize he’s faster than Daniel Jones? Well he is . He has to learn that once he pulls it down , the idea is to avoid contact , not do his Bronco Nagurski routine where he drops his head and slams into the tackler . I’d also say he has to be able to step away from the first pass rusher to get pressure but that’s really the first 3 pass rushers given the Giants offensive line .
Next game is another test . The Pats actually gave a good defense . Green Bay played excellent defense against the Lions . I’ll looking forward to how he plays in this one . It would help him to get Waller back .
I don't know if we'll ever know what we have with Devito as the overall team is so bad.
Just saying.
One can only hope!
Cash in now; the ride ends soon.
Huge market for Giants jerseys with an Italian surname on it. No Brainerd.

If he was with the Cowpukes, I think he would have accumulates at least two winning rings.
If the O-line ever gets it together, I still think he can help us bring at least one more Lombardy to the team. I see DeVito like a Garoflollo type, a terrific back-up who can surprise you , even in a Super Bowl if need be.
C'mon Manny, how can you really believe that, when a number of experts on this board, who are much more knowledgeable, and can evaluate talent better than the people running the Giants, say DJ is not the guy.
I’d say the fact that Jones has been statistically one of the worst qbs in the NFL since he stepped foot in the league while leading a bottom 10 NFL offense year after year and never staying healthy has made it clear Jones is not the guy. All of this going into year 2? 3? 4? 5? Nope…year 6!
And yet, as bad a quarterback as you and others insist he is, he convinced Schoen and Dabol he was worth 140 million after last season’s success.
Oh wait I forgot……….Mara made him,
I will add that DeVito has a better chance of being as good as Romo than DJ ever would have had winning two SBs with Dallas.

I can't make a judgement after seeing him play 3 games. He has left guys open and taken too many sacks but it's only been 3 games. He's done some good stuff. At least I see a QB who looks to push the ball down the field something I did not see from Jones.

All of the BBI QB experts have said so.
Elon Musk could throw a tighter spiral than DeVito. Let’s be honest.
Elon Musk can’t even run a fucking social media company right. Awful fucking analogy.
Says a clueless nobody. See! I can do it too!
