Oregon vs Washington tonight. Oregon is the better team right now. Washington clipped them earlier. Should be a fun matchup with Penix and Nix slinging it. Lot of good WRs as well.
Here’s a hypothetical scenario. You’re winners this weekend:
Washington
Michigan
FSU
Bama
Texas
If this is this case - No SEC in the final 4? Hmmmm
I really thought Oregon was going to win, shows what I know.
Lol
As a UO fan, i thought the the spread was waaaaay too high

Sometimes it gets away from you and it happens quickly. And it felt that way from the jump for Oregon. The spread for this game was ridiculous, Washington clearly came in very disrespected.

It's still entirely possible that the 2nd half could be the mirror image of the 1st half.
With the PI call, it could all change now!\
He actually has good mobility. Injury history is not an issue. Mechanics? I’ll leave that to thr experts.
Ratings...
Jones could never have made that TD throw
You can’t impede a receiver like that. Period.

He could make that throw, we just wouldn't have caught it and someone would have pulled a hammy on the play.
Oregon could have totally lost it's composure, and it could have been a blowout. Got to credit Lannings for keeping things together until something broke for the better.
Some of the critiques here on him I just flat out don't agree with. But what do I know.
That's not PI. Receiver engaged as well and he absolutely gave up on the play. Play on. The booth official was spot on.
I meant Penix, not Nix.
He's very handsy.
I think he's going to go 2nd round. I want no part of him for the Giants though. He doesn't have all of the tools. There's not one tool in his toolbox thats elite. Intangibles i'll give you

can't count them out... Nix is better than people say and they are a good team. Man I hope Washington can pull this out.

I think the problem is two fold... 1) he isn't great at any one thing. average to good at everything but not great... 2) he sucked when he was thrown in on a crappy Auburn team and it is tough for people to forget.

And making good decisions so far. I just don’t love the lack of mobility, injury history and his mechanics. He looks to my untrained eye like an arm thrower.
I meant Penix, not Nix.
Mike, I agree. I have the same concerns about Penix.

Muhammad interfered for like 10 seconds, lol. Oregon targeted him in first game and abused him. Need to do it more in second half.

You cannot impede a receiver on a route and hold him. It’s textbook interference.

Nix seems to have all the tools and intangibles. I can see him going mid-first to mid-second round.

+1. I'm a UW homer, but I don't want him for the Giants either, for the same reasons. He's a really good college QB, but not in the NFL.
Yeah, like I said earlier on the throw Nix was a little behind the WR, that is going to be called in the NFL. I guess you missed the right hand grabbing the shoulder pad?
And yes it is possible it will not be called, but when a DB grabs shoulder pads....
Understand I don't care for either team and Oregon a little less..
I lived in Seattle, near the UW for 40 years. Hello to your Aunt.

So I get this point but then I see guys like Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy succeeding and it makes me second guess. I had the same thoughts on Jalen Hurts coming out, what does he do that's elite?
The thing with Nix is, to me, he has enough of everything physically. Can he run an NFL offense is my biggest question mark with him.

Yes, you know more than the official in the booth.
That was a "we need 20-10 at halftime" call
Hmmm..they are different QBs for sure.

I've never been enamored with him, either. And I've tried.

Hurts has a better arm than Nix will ever have and is an elite runner and has elite size. He also didn't go in the first round because of some concerns but Nix is more like Mariota than he is Hurts

It’s a rule. You don’t have to like it but it was called correctly.

You got it. You clearly know the rule better than the guy who was an official for decades that espn pays to analyze these things. Sorry for doubting you

QBs get overdrafted and a lot of teams need QBs which is why I put him as a possibility in the middle of the 1st.
I don’t know that the next QB has to be elite at anything if he is good at everything. He seems smart which to me is the most necessary tool. I think he can make the throws you need. His arm is not a wow, but it is strong enough.
Gun to my head, if I had to take one of these guys for the Giants it would be Nix. Penix is a better passer, but just too many other concerns. I think Nix has a better NFL career if he ends up in the right situation (which later picks often do).
There was no infraction or impediment. They both stopped and it was overthrown. Terrible terrible call.

And I’m sure had that been a call against ND, your opinion would be the same.

Penix health is such a yellow flag. He’s one knee injury away from being in the waiting line for needing a new knee. The one shoulder injury he had scares me too.
Had the receiver tried to actually go by him and not totally give up on the play, it would have deserved a flag.

Yes it was. But that’s what happens sometimes.
