You don't know that. They beat LSU, one of the best teams in the conference, and beat them worse than 'Bama beat them. Defense matters. Why isn't Michigan getting this scrutiny? Who have they beaten? OSU and PSU, and who else? Sure, Iowa, who can't score points. FSU with quality wins vs LSU, Clemson, and if this score holds, Louisville. Frankly, FSU's resume is as good as anyone's at the top. If you think Washington would beat the pants off of FSU? Washington hasn't played a defense like FSU's all season.

Same here and I can understand the screams from Tallahassee but the folks in Athens had their shot today and came up short. Finishing second in a Power 5 this year isn’t getting you in.

Of course it's subjective. That's the current system. There are no automatic qualifiers in place like the NCAA basketball tournament.
BTW, Auburn also had Georgia on the ropes a month ago before Georgia rallied in the 4th quarter.
head to head, etc. are all objective, factual things. Getting way too subjective going into, "well I think this 1 loss team is better than this 0 loss team because they lost their QB"

It’s not remotely basically on the road. The fans were split almost 50/50. Georgia is an hour and a half closer to Atlanta than Bama is.
